The topic I have been running over in my mind all night is time. Which coincieds with.... well everything. It's fucking crazy all that separates now and then comes with a tick of a clock.

You know what's even crazier? When is now? Is it this second? Or this one? As soon as you pinpoint it...it's gone.

I've personally come to the conclusion that time does not actually exist...
Think of a memory, and a dream. Once the event has passed into unreality, is it really any more substantial then a dream you've had?
Memories and dreams seem the same to me.

I agree. I think that all time may be is a construct we have created to deal with the infinite amount of information that we have to deal with in our finite lives and minds.

That reminded me of that scene, in Spaceballs, where Dark Helmut and his lackey guy are fast forwarding through the movie to see what happens next and they stop it at that exact moment in time. I love that movie!

I haven't seen that movie in a long, long time. It's a good one though. I remember I read this crazy short story about a woman who "learned" how to not see time as a linear progression, but as an all-encompassing experience. It was a real mind-blower.

To answere this question I used the most majestic thing ever.....
google
Ethnohistorians have played a major role in showing how Now is a social concept of time, and that time is part of all social life.
But it dosn't answer the question when is now?

Is there a chemical reason why your eyes are crossing?

Just a random thought. I love getting lost in time. It's very wild how a couple minutes can feel like an hour while on a different plane of perception. Sometimes those few minutes can be heaven, sometimes hell. However when it's all said and done I realize it's all just a drop in the bottomless bucket of eternity.
Hey blissed! I'm pretty wasted myself tonight bro. Happy fourth!

I have a feeling that all this thinking about time will color tomorrow's trip in an interesting way. Good times.

What I think is really weird is the time dilation as I get older. If you think back, wasn't a year a lot longer when you were a little kid? Seems like the less time I have left here, the faster time moves.

How exactly does one pay attention to the passage of time?
