from what i understand from a cable guy i hitched a ride from in detroit, as well as what i understand from a cable guy i paid off the other day...
you dont need a de scrambler. all you need to do is remove the filter from the line and it will allow all the channels in. its not detectable also.
my friends filter was located on the main cable line coming off of the power line poles, mine is on the side of my hosue if i recall right. shouldnt be too hard.

That sounds difficult, actually. Finding something that small and being certain that it's for the cable line, and being certain that it's the one leading to your house.

its not that hard, for many people the filter is located on the house itself at the main cable junction line. for others its on the pole outside.
who cares if they see you? they wont know what youre doing

usually, atleast in the chicago area with comcast, the signal is notch filtered at the house from what i understand. this is using the small filters mentioned above.
story ---------------------- when i was living a t a friends house i paid for their cable to get hooked back up. they used to have expanded basic, but were now only paying for basic and internet.
AS the installer finished up, he was leaving when he noticed we were still hooked up for expanded basic.
He said he would have to go back up the ladder to the house connection off of the power line poll.
I told him i would pay him $20 not to
Free cable, noone ever knows.
The place where they have the filter is generally the same place where they physically disconnect your service when you stop paying.

Hrm, so in my case it would be the wire that comes up out of the ground and then into the wall of the house...
Do they put filters underground? That would be a bitch.

One does not. This may not be technically correct, but is a way to think of it... The filter removes part of the signal that is needed to properly view the channel. When you remove the filter, that part of the signal is returned, allowing you to view the channel.
Remember, getting channels that you don't pay for is theft in most places.

I think this only works if you are connected to cable but do not subscribe. In other words, you will get basic cable if you remove the filter. I do not think premium channels are blocked by a physical filter at your location. My buddy in college a few years ago had a descrambler which worked surprisingly well on premium channels. I forgot what it was though.

They're tamper-proof seals... they're not something you walk down to the store and buy. The company puts them on there so they know when somebody unauthorized has fucked witht the box.

I had one when I was like fifteen. The whole neighborhood used to come over and watch free porn. It made the picture look like crap though.
It stopped working when everything went digital here and I haven't messed around with one since.
