Cactus drying method

what would be the best method to dry cactus? i was thinking a dehydrator,

Cut into thin sections and let dry in warm, arid air.

A food dehydrator will probably work ok, but most people just use natural means.

It takes a long time for it to dry out sitting in the open...even with a fan on em.  Dehydrator would be key, if you don't have one put it in the oven with the door cracked open at about 175-200 degrees f.  It might take a couple hours and you may even have to do them in sessions but it really speeds things up. 

I dried some out last week and today I was in the process of powdering them and the core of the cactus gets really hard when its dried, and it ended up shattering the blades of my coffee grinder into 4 pieces... :frown:

im going to peel and core before i dry. i figured the heat might not be a good thing, but its a whole hell of alot less heat than boiling it for a few hours
