I have some monotubs prepared with the pelletized straw method. The tub contaminated before fully collinizing, most likly do to use a low spawn ratio.
Is it possible to take the pollyfil out of the holes and just put them outdoors?

You might have better luck with this in the contam forum. With that said, when my poo casings get contaminated with the green (usually after two or three flushes), I take them out back and dig a shallow grave. I dump them in and cover loosely with some clear plastic to maintain moisture and humidity. I go out every few days and harvest a wet ounce or so from these (I've probably got 4 or 5 going). Nature usually has a way of fighting off certain contams long enough to get a decent flush or two. Some people like to completely bury the casings and wait 'til fall to harvest. A lot depends on the outside climate.

Premed answered your question well. Bury it in soil. Just leaving it in the tub will continue to grow the contaminants, with or without polyfil. RR

I had a tray of rye spawned to horse poo that wasn't colonizing, the jar smelled a bit sour and the myc on the rye was stalled at about 90%, but I spawned anyway. After a week the rye still had not fluffed up or anything like usual. So I put the tray outside and loosened the foil cover. I just looked at it last night, about a week after putting it out and it's started to colonize, fluffly white puffs on the rye. Must be something in the fresh mountain air..
