Experiences with Bags
    #5817726 - 07/03/06 09:18 PM (17 years, 6 months ago)

I was wondering how reliable bags are now a days. I have never tried one, but my friend was thinking on delving into them. Anyone who has had experiences with bags? Also, are the mushbox bags reliable? My friend is having a hard time finding a reliable vender for mycobags. Thanks for sharing!

Man there has been a lot of bags post latly,

Yes bags do rock, I dont see any down side, except for the expense.

Check out the vendors there all good, though I dont know the prices.

You will all so need to seal it. food sealers can work I hear but I dont think they are appropriate,

seal it? I was checking out mushbox's bags and they seems to have it already pre-sealed and ready to go. I guess you mean if I were to make my own mycobag right?

yep, that's what he meant... i think he thought you were thinking about just buying their empty filterpatch bags. their ready-to-go bags don't need an impulse sealer... in fact... they only need syringes, that's why they're ready-to-go!

actually, this a cool idea too... it's a roll of bags, just seal one end, cut it off the roll, then fill and seal the other end... nifty... 100 footx9inch roll for 37 dollars

wow, actually, do you think the 10x16 version of these would work?

that would be cool for people who didnt want to buy an impulse sealer

No autoclave pouches will not work. They have one side plastic the other paper. They come out of the autoclave wet and need to be dry heated or some claves have drying cycles. I use Hepa blown air. My point is that the paper back is permeable to contams when wet.

Also those biohazard bags Probably do not have FAE filters on them.
