Help with cooling...
    #5816311 - 07/03/06 02:55 PM (17 years, 6 months ago)

Hello everyone! This is my first post, but I have done alot of reading. I did a search on this topic and couldn't find anything to awnser my question. I don't think that I will have any prob with colonizing, as my house stays at a steady 80 deg. all of the time. where I am thinking I am going to have the prob is when I move to the fruiting chamber.

Is there an easy "low cost" TEK for cooling. I have pre tested my FC for humidity and temp without the cakes so that I don't run into problems when I get there. and I come up with a steady 87 deg. and 96% humid. from my reading I want to be closer to the high 70's - low 80's. Thanks in advance for your help.

Like I said this is my first post but I have done ALOT of reading here and it seems that you are all verry helpfull and knowlegable.

I am getting my Syrenge toomarrow and I will start antother Post/Log with all the pictures I can upload. so that I can get some help through the proccess. Thanks again and wish me luck on my Virgin grow!

sorry for spelling it is not my strong point.

Although somthing w/ a little less maintanance would be nice. wouldn't you be switching out the bottles alot and exposing your product alot?

Thanks ST I'll take your word for it. As your opinion seems to carry some weight around here.

when i lived in AZ i used to take those ice paks you put in your lunch box and put on in my case you dont have to worry cause colonized cake is pretty resistent to contam and i used 10/90 peroxide/water solution with a air bubbler style setup helped me get a 10 degree drop from room temp to case temp try it should help keep u in the 70s this especially helps if you have a drip shield in your case i have one in every case no matter what tek i use but if u dont make take a cloth and make like a pouch on top of you rbber made or just zip tie them and have em sit on top of your case lid on the inside but its not effective if useing air bubbler tek

I have some ice packs in the fidge now. I will take one out and stick it in the FC to see how low it drops temp and for how long it will last. It would be good to have two of them and rotate them in/out freezer

once theyre in the fruiting chamber, it'll be hard to catch a contam. just grab a few gallon jugs and frezze them. one of them will cool a pretty good sized chamber and you should only have to change them once a day when you do your fanning/misting/whatever
