Easy as pie LC

I've found something kick ass after birthing my jars!! There is Mycelium "residue" left over inside the jars.

Heres what i did to make a LC: (Keep in mind that this is not guaranteed to be 100% sterile as i did it)

OK, once a cake is done colonizing, move it to inside your glove box. Birth it onto the lid. Set aside. Now look along the upper edges of the jar. Does it have a least on spot of white sticking? Or a smudge of whiteness in the bottom?? That will serve as our inoculant. Now add a bit of honey (refer to you standard LC mix) and sterilized water. Cover lid with coffee filters/tyvek put in darkness at a warm temp 80-86 is good. 3 days later shake it violently with you fingers over the hole (you washed your hands right?) You should see mycelium wisps in the liquid.

There it is.. My first tek lol.

Mine has mycelium wisps already, but i didn't use sterilized water. So i have no idea what is going to happen. Prob contam, but i was just testing a theory .

I hope this helps some one extend there strains life

it's a decent idea but the regular LC teks aren't difficult and they a pretty much contam free if you follow the directions. Your idea is good as a shot in the dark type thing if your just experimenting around and dont mind a few contam jars.

Yea, iv noticed mycelium sticking to the jar walls. I think it would be a better idea to prepare your LC as usual but instead of using sterilized water to suck up some mycelium, i suggest using a weak conc of peroxide.
