Worried about flashbacks

I have been planning to do acid this summer for a long time. What Im scared of is a few things. first and foremost is flashbacks occuring at very bad times. Worst of all would be while driving or at christmas dinner or something. How long do these flashbacks last.
Secondly Im worryed about making my clinical depression worse than it already is.
lastly I have heard things like the fact that I will change in personality afterwards. Is this possible?
Thanks for any answers

Maybe the answer lies in your own head already. From the way you describe your current condition, maybe at this point in time tripping isn't exactly "your cup of tea."
Do some more research on www.erowid.org, read this fully:

Then maybe reconsider.

In my opinion- flashbacks are more of a feature than a drawback. The return of the initial experience has never been so crippling as to inhibit my ability to function normally. It is usually an intense, fond memory of an incredible experience. As for the depression, reflecting on the sensation of being in perfect sync with the ebb and flow of the Universe is enough to keep me going on even my darkest days. Keep in mind however that it is a very subjective experience. MAKE SURE YOU ARE PREPARED!

See I've done immense amount of research, I just wanted to get opinions from people who do trip. I think Im prepared for the intensity of it as I have high dosed on mushrooms. From what Ive heard a high dose of mushrooms can be even more difficult than LSD, but Im not expecting a cakewalk. What I wasnt sure of was whether flashbacks would bring me to the level of insanity that happens where even basic speech can prove difficult. Ive read alot from that page stroonz. Thanks for your help everyone.

The depression is your own call. Do other psychedellic drugs further your depression? Just don't forget you took a drug. This would be the only thing i would concern yourself about. But you won't go crazy, so don't worry about that. Worse comes to worse you'll just have a bad evening and then you'll know LSD is not for you. Now it might also help you get past the depression or lead you to a better outlook of some sort, you really never know.
As for the flashbacks, they have never impaired me in any way. Its not like the world dissolves, its more like a fond memory. Have you ever smelled something or heard a sound and all of a sudden a memory rushes back to you and you think about it for a second while that smell or sound occurs. Thats often what a flashback is like.
You see so many things tripping, your brain records a lot of it and when it sees it agian, your brain recalls the trippy memory and says "hey, look, remember the time we did that." Nothing to be worried about.
As for permenant personality changes, it might happen. But the change won't be any more dramatic than if you had just read a good philosophy book or if you had a personal ephiphany about yourself. You won't become Mr. Hyde or anything.
-------------------- "To do right is to know what you want. Now when you are dissatisfied with yourself it's because you are after something you don't really want. What objects are you proposing to yourself? Are they the objects you really value? If they are not, you are cheating yourself. I don't meant that if you chose to pursue the objects you most value, you will attain them; of course not. Your experience will tell you that. But success in getting after much labor what you really don't care for is the bitterest and most ridiculous failure." -George Santayana
