My jars of 1pint still havent produced anything white or anything visable for that matter... They have been there for 1 week and 2 days. The tempature is around 77F (house temp) ... any ideas?

what type of jars? brf? wbs? what did you inoculate them with LC or spores? How long did you let them cool after you PC? IMO You should be seeing some myc growth where you injected the jars.

Temps a little low, shouldnt be a big deal but try and get it up around the 82-86 range.

It will colonized from the inside out and colonized unevenly. If you inject into the center of the jar (and this is something i heard of someone else doing) and spin it upon inoculation it would colonize.

Yes you want to inject it along the edge of the glass so it runs down the side.. I have not had good luck with 1 qt jars.. I tried on wbs  but they ended up a moldy mess...

I would try doing half pint jars and make sure u do 1 mL per jar thought the 4 holes... and they have had plenty of time to cool.

IMHO i think that if you didn't inject them to early (while to hot killing spores) you might be able to get away with them colonizing enough to fruit. U can use a sterile spoon to check and see what has colonized but i would wait another week or so.. maybe by then it will have colonized to the edge of the jar and you can see it. IF not i would check the inside.

Did you do more than one jar?  IF you get one good cake and it fruits then you can make a spore syringe and try it again. otherwise you will have to get more spores :frown:

Remember to.. this is just advice.. I could be wrong..  :0)

I say be patient. I've never grown, but have been doing a lot of reading and being patient is up there with sterility when it comes to important elements of growing. It could be a number of things. As stated before, you may not have waited long enough to let the jar cool and killed the spores. Also, you may have mixed the substrate improperly and used too much or too little water. Make sure the holes are not covered on your jars to allow for gas exchange. Don't worry about contams, thats why there is a layer of dry verm on top, for protection. Try increasing the temp to around 84. 86 is ideal. I've also heard of turning the jars upside down for a day to create a gas exchange. Only do it for a day though then flip it back over. That should stimulate some growth too. Just be patient. If there aren't any visible contams I say just wait. A watched pot never boils.

You wont have to worry about contams because there is nothing growing.. if there is nothing growing then all you can do is wait or check them. When you turn the jars (I do once the myc have colonized to the bottom and there is a small amount left) it pushes air through the cake. This helps with the myc growth slowing at the end.. IF you have to little water they will still colonize.. they would just slow/ hesitate colonizing once moisture isnt there.

At least that IMO.

well i'll tell ya one thing, before i had my incubator built
(which btw you can build for $30: submersible water heater from store will run the most, $10-$20... something to keep the second tub above the heater, then just some decent size tubs wherever you can get 'em cheap)
i had my jars in some drop-ceiling with the room temp at about 75d... not shit happened for about 2 weeks and i was gettin shitty. well by the time i built that incubator i pulled all the jars out and the 3 (of 6) that i didn't touch to look at all had phat growth.
it's a proven fact that mushrooms are shy and you can't look at them if you want them to grow.
now on my 2nd batch i have everything in the incubator and the stuff grows so fast now!
another tip: watch out for moisture content of your substrate! not enough water and even if you do get it to grow the growth will halt and you'll end up with nothing but a dried up turd of a cake with hardly any colonization. when i was using 1 pint jars, even though i followed directions very carefully on measurements, that's what happened to mine. 1/2 pint jars are great... and once those are going mycelium syringes are the way to go.
