Pressure Cooker help-o

Hey guys, here's the situation;
Bought a 4L Hawkins PC Bought 6x 300mL jam jars (these are quite tall)
Now the problem is that the jars JUST fit in the PC, and I mean JUST. To make them fit I have to take out the metal thing that you put in the bottom to stop the jars from boiling, I was wondering if this was alright or if I fucked up and have to go out and buy different jars which are extremely hard to find?
Thanks, deX

Yeh I thought of that but even a washcloth would make the top of the jar protrude outwards of the PC...

Try it. It won't hurt the pressure cooker.

I just set my cakes right on the bottom of the PC, and I haven't had any problems. I personally think the metal thing on the bottom is superfluous.

The metal rack stops the jars from having direct contact.. the jars might crack... just be careful.
