Fl Spear Fishing

i have recently gotten realy into spear fishing. If you dont no what it is, its basicaly a long spear you shoot out of your hand with a huge ass rubber band. I was wondering to the fisherman in florida, How illegal is this. My friend will only hunt at night but i have very VERY bad eyes an would rather take my boat out n try an get some decent game. Does anyone no the laws reguarding spear fishing?

Yeah you need to swim with a float and flag declairing your presence in declaired areas.
