i forget
    #5811853 - 07/02/06 08:22 AM (17 years, 8 months ago)

By admitting to forget, I remember:

I remember that
I last only 3 seconds (in series) and that
I am what I see and feel.

But what about dynamic personality, skills, attributes, and personal history and such learning and conditioned wonders?
They are also part of what I see and feel – but they add up to precious little except when I forget.

Through remembering that I forget, I find my way again like a hinge to a magic door connecting to a space with a more dignified way of being.

This is valuable; it penetrates my art, which is appreciation of creation and a magic door.

I think they add up to precious little except when we remember.  None of these things are part of what we are currently seeing or feeling, but part of an established, memorized past which we intentionally carry forward with us.

I seem to remember that they help set up attitudes
and by reflex they set up more than that in the environment around me.

e.g. I do disturb the space i find myself in quite a bit and set it up to my liking, or rather to the liking of my past experiences especially when I forget that I am only 3 seconds brief etc.

  If we all remembered that our "self" is only 3 seconds old, we might not become so attached to our ways of being.

its valuable, I remember its not so valuable, when I forget I go through magic doors, when I remember I'm more dignified, I only last 3 seconds, is this something to do with meditation and Buddha, you condition yourself to consiously remember things, then you forget, hoping you will walk more dignified, so that karma doesn't come along and kick ur ass becaue its the law of attraction, I'm putting bits and pieces together for myself, Its funny that he describes karma not being some force, but an act of will, but then ultimatly he gives a description that pretty much says what hes refuting, I really don't understand some of his stuff,

i only remember 2 things when I'm lucky
and neither has anything to do with karma.
dignity has to do with attitude and sustainability.
just ask
the terms are really not that binding.
expect huge gaping holes so your mind can move freely.

Why did you leave your keys upon the table?

the best place to find something is on a clear table.
(knee jerk response, why do you ask?)

I ask because its a nice example, especially when the answer is:

Because you wanted to.

I never wanted to leave the keys on the table.
I come home thinking of my wife and airconditioning, and maybe a beer or some food.
I may see the cleared table and trust it (or my more usual corner of the shelf)
Then as an act performed before getting into something else, I enact my last rite of the keys (i.e. until the next time I need them)

I don't put them on the table because I want them there, only in convenience, or necessity, as part of the dance towards a kiss or while advancing to a beer or piece of cheese.

(I suppose if it went the way that I wanted, I would just drop them to the floor with my computer bag and everything - like mud falling off my overworked carcass, while leaping, cleansed and cooled into the many imaginary arms of my wife and smoothly drink the beer that she had ready in one hand and nibble prosciutto offered by another. what I want is more like that, than putting the keys on the table.)

if the keys are on the table, soon I will find them there and say, these have to get off the table, and the spot they belong in will be someplace on the shelf near by.
