Is anyone familiar with the "Easy Mycelium Tek"? Does it work? It reads as follows, "The Procedure:

Fill the jar 3/4 full with wheat grain
Fill with water 1/4 the way up the grain
Cover top of the jar with wax paper and nuke it for three minutes, trust me, it's sterile. Cover with lid, shake, and let cool.
Introduce innoculum, just remove the lid and drop the spores in. Replace lid and shake.
And that's it in a nutshell, just wait 5-10 days and it should begin colonization. Don't worry too much about sterility, 99% of my jars come out uncontaminated. "

Would a microwave do the job in this case? Let's say it does, i'd get quart jars of mycelium. Now, I'm sure some of you have heard of eating or and tripping off mycelium or using cranberry juice to extract the good stuff. Does this work? Could I dry mycelium for storage, then trip on it later? My idea is to use the "easy tek" to whip up mycelium quick with only a microwave, dry it perhaps, and trip away. Would this work?

Hmmm, well, it sounds good, but just three minutes?? You may want to nuke it longer. A pressure cooker would work best. Saving the mycelia for later , you can do it, but the trip is not all that great off just mycelia, and sometimes if your using cakes of any kind, like rice....yuk, they will taste horrible.:)bluhoney
