Alright, so I've followed al instructons collectively from posts on here and teks all over the site. I used the Cambodian strain cause it's said to be the best for noo-b's. I set up all conditions properly and followed ALL instructions and was quite obsessive in steriltiy. Finally after 4 weeks, colonization began. After 6 weeks, flly colonized. I then used the dunk method, for only 12 hours and 10 minutes(which is recomended the most. It was refrigerated, but never frozen and sterility was totally 100%. It has been two weeks and nothing, yet all conditions are perfect. When should the first pinheads be seen in a best case scenario?(even though thats what I have set up) I have followed everything EXACTLY. Should I talk to them or play some Jimi Hendrix? lol please send some info my way(and some prayers)

It's getting a dim light during the day, from the sun through blinds, but not direct, and a VERY dim blue light at night. It gets about 4-5 hours of darkness. I go to bed around 3 or 4 and thats when I turn off the blue light, so when the sun comes up, it gets light again.

yeah, like roadkill stated, we can better help you with more info, if the temp and humidity is low then it might take a bit longer, remeber, these things take patience so just give it time, im sure pins will form for you in no time

And light.....yeah not as important as previously thought. Seconds of light will cause pins, pins also appear from darkness. Gas exchange and temps are what you need to pay most of your attention to.

I think 78F is a litte warm for pinning from cakes, if I'm not mistaken I thought the ideal range was 68-74F, but that just might be the n00b in me talking.

I am using perlite, but just in the lid of a jar that I have the cake sitting on. No contamination yet, a little extra mycelial growth. And yes, it took 4 ALMOST five weeks for colonization with cambodian.
