Feng Shui = Correct

Naturally, our environment has constant effect on who we are in this moment, as we are consistently interacting with our environment, and that changes us (and our environment ). These effects are evidenced on a conscious level and a more subtle, subconscious level. Reality is our environment, and we perceive reality... who here knows the power of perception, who here directly experiences perception? Perception is huge.
Its amazing what some paint can do to a living room, and it is stunning how much our environment affects our personality and that which our mind concerns itself with on levels that we are not even aware of. I've recently had mushroom and acid experiences in my house, wherein I would enter my kitchen, which, at the time, had no blinds or curtains, any sort of covering to obscure the view looking out, or in. Coincidentally, these experiences would turn slightly negative, as I would become overly concerned about what others observing me would think and also the state of the world out that window.
I know that I have done a few posts on feng shui before, but upon doing some renovating in my house and the immediate effects that have unfolded, I must comment upon it again. The principles that feng shui are based upon are truth - our environment creates who we are, which alters the manners in which we interact with that environment, which, in turn, changes ourselves and our life situation - are directly evident.
Perhaps some might wonder why so many people do not truly shape their environment, most notably their home, not only by simply moving stuff around, adding stuff, arranging stuff, coloring stuff, but by also associating all of that stuff with meaning and purpose, which is a skill that will have a much more profound effect on ourselves and our state of change than simply observing different colors. Our subconscious mind is an amazing, powerful device when we can effectively utilize it, if we first learn how to center our awareness within our state of being. We are able to turn our experience of being present in our environment into a state of divine communion if we are so inclined.
Simply think about it, and observe your environment, observe your thoughts, and consider your current life situation. Make changes in your environment, and your life situation will change, just as making changes in your life situation (taking a new job, for example) will change your environment (new office).

 Peace.

I think that Feng Shui is very important in creating a comfortable living space. I mean a hole in the ground with some dry leaves is good shelter...I have used just such a dwelling before, BUT a space to LIVE requires care.

Certainly. Our living space is a system, just as our body is, and there are processes that are to be carried out for the health of the system and all of those who dwell within it. Not only basic physical processes, such as the cleaning of the dishes, but mental processes in relation to one's environment... relaxation, a sense of being, a sense of home... a sense of whatever we require from our living space, whatever we prefer....
Personally, I am finally bringing my center back into my being, after a long strange journey of an intelligent but overanalytical mind seeking to gain as much understanding as possible... I am bringing awareness back within my being, existing in a state of intuitive knowing, and my living space is changing as a result.
My work space is looking pretty presentable as well, even with customers tearing shit up and an overnight crew that puts out partial cases and lays the rest around the department.
 Peace.

I have applied many of the principles of Feng Shui in arranging my home, but I would say that, more than learning any specific "cures," this raised my awareness of the way energy flows through my environment and my body. The applied method of moving impediments to the graceful circulation of energy within a small space was an excellent metaphor for doing the same within my body.
Additionally, I have found that re-arranging my furnishings at least once per season is an effective way to disturb my tendency to go on "autopilot." If I am forced to consider where the couch is, where my books are, etc...I must wake up and notice my current reality.
This is also an excellent exercise in accepting impermanence. If some of my belongings do not "fit" in the current arrangement, they get sold or donated.
Keeping my familiar environment dynamic also stimulates the formation of new synaptic connections in my brain, which maintains youth and flexibility in the grey matter.

Not only should our environments be dynamic. For that matter we should be dynamic in every way as people. Acceptance of change is the beginning...exploiting change in a natural way when it occurs...even unexpectedly...is the goal as far I see it. As far as my belongings...I occasionally rearrange things, but not near as often as you. I just really learned how to give or throw something away if it is not needed. The garbage can has become my ally.

When I can...remember I live in some weird backwater loaded with rednecks who think the only thing you can recycle is beer cans...only to buy more beer.
