Just wondering if anyone knows what these are...if youve read or replyed to my other posts you know im a noob just having fun and learning. I dont plan on eating anything for now. well heres what I found next to some cow patties...



* Habitat: cowfield...not on the crap but near it
* Characteristics of the gills: dark brown
* the cap: yellow and fades to white
*the stem: white, solid, stringy
* Spore print color: brown
* Color that the mushroom bruises: no bruising
* Scent of the mushroom: mushroomy? i dont really know
and once again I dont plan on eating these...and Im almost positive they are probably not active. haha and probably poisonous

I usually find those(a sort of agaricus) on old piles of horse shit and staw that has broken down.

yes they were found right next to pretty old cow shit. any info on the agaricus??
yeah so I googled Agaricus campestris and I think that may be it...probably not worth eating as it is easily confused with some deadlies haha

Many species of agaricus are fine edibles. Want to make sure you don't have one that bruises as some of those are toxic. They are pretty much the same as the grocery store 'button' mushrooms and portabellas. Because of that and the few toxic species - and the fact that most of them that I find are full of bugs and maggots - I don't eat wild agaricus.
