OK I got these two cacti from a garden shop and the lady that owns it doesn't have a clue as to what they are. one looks kinda like San Pedro but I don't have enough experience with it to be positive so I thought that some one on the shroomery could help me.

2nd one isn't Peruvianus, don't know what it is though. I'd agree the first was Trichocereus Pachanoi.

2nd one most likely cereus peruvians. thats CEREUS, not TRICHOcereus. peruvians does not equal peruvian torch

OK so I went back to the nursery and purchased the rest of the assumed San Pedro wasn't much about 4 foot of cactus and not in good shape. it was all in one long piece but was like three segments so I cut off the top 8 inches and planted it and I cut 6 inches above the pot it is in and I took 1 1/2 pounds of what was left and cooked it. I followed mjshroomers recipe, from this forums, to a T and I didn't get anything is it possible that this cactus isn't Pedro or could just the condition of the cacti be the culprit or may be I just didn't use enough. I do appreciate all of the responses. thanks

sure send them to me and I will try lolol
I now have like 5 pieces planted and will let them grow and give them lots of TLC but I was wondering if its possible that they are not Pedro at all. then it would be a waist of time cutting and damaging the plant for no good reason. I am not an expert but they look right is there any way to be 100% positive that it is Pedro.

Definetly pedro's, like mitchnast said, you need to let them mature, and a couple of months before harvest beat the shit out of them, poke 'em, sunburn 'em, stick 'em in the shade for a while, sunburn 'em again, you get the picture.
