This post is for those of you who remember with fondness, nostalgia, or even dread, your first time on mushrooms. Whether you were proper fuckered, or stone-cold-sober-and-pissed-right-the-fuck-off (yes, it?s hyphenated), write it down here. This is my first time: I was over at my friend J?s house. I was with R, and my girlfriend at the time A. J brings out this baggy of mushrooms, which I had only heard about up until this time. This was the first time I had actually seen them. I had smoked pot a number of times before that, and some of my friends had done shrooms and said they were a blast. J offered, and I accepted. As it turned out, the dosage was far too low for me. We probably had about an 1/8 between us, and I think J got the lions share. I don?t look back on this with any negative thoughts. I realize that it is a far better thing to underdose than to overdose, but at the time I was a little annoyed. Anyway, the events after our dose are as follows. We went to a beer store so J and A could get a 6-pack. R was driving, so he didn?t get anything. On the road, J was telling me all of these wonderful things he was feeling and seeing and thinking, while I was getting nothing but that (now familiar) aching surge of energy in my joints. We went to this teen hoodlum hang out area (known as the ledge), which is the grounding of a non-existent bridge. I over looks a small river that runs through my city. Anyway, when we got there, there were two other people (a man and a woman) sitting on the ledge, sharing drinks from a cup. We talked to them, and found out that they were both absolutely hammered, and were drinking a cup of whiskey paralyzer. We stuck around there, talking to them, for about an hour. J got up to go down to the riverside to drink by himself. About 15 minutes later, a dark figure hops down onto the ledge. At first we thought it was J, but it promptly dispelled that but shining a flashlight in our faces and saying ?Alright, you?re all under arrest.? The cop takes the remainder of the 6-pack off our hands. We call to J that there is a police officer here that wants to talk to him. He answers ?Yeah right!? comes up from the bank, and says ?Aw shit.? The cop escorts us back to the parking lot, but it was only J they were interested in (A and him decided that he would take the heat for the beer, and they would split the ticket). The other two we were sitting with apparently did not look suspicious, because they just got in their jeep and drove off. J was escorted into the police car, so that the cop could talk to him while he wrote the ticket. The rest of us sat in R?s car and waited. The waited was extremely nerve wracking because there were still some mushrooms (for R for later) sitting in the glove box. After a very long while, J comes back to the car, ticket in hand, and white as a sheet. Obviously the ordeal was very hard for him, but we didn?t realize how hard until he got in the car and the interior lights came on. His eyes were completely pupil. We were all hard pressed to find any color at all in them. We decided then and there to call it a night, and I am still wondering how the hell the cop didn?t notice something like that.

Well, the first time I ever ate mushrooms (which I don't consider my first mushroom trip) was a friday night where I couldn't resist the temptation to dig into the mushrooms I had waited 7 months for. I decided to get "a taste" for them, so I ate a cap and a stem (pretty small). I started playing skate or die 2 (bitchin game, BTW) and was listening to the now-cancelled radio show "hard drive" (they played bitchin techno every friday night at ten). Well I thought I noticed some breathing on the TV screen, but I shook that off as placebo. Now I realize that the first effects I felt were in a song that was on the show. There was this guy talking with an english accent and I noted thAT it sounded very very exagerated (exageration seems to be very key to me on shrooms). Later (when I heard the song again) it sounded more or less like a normal accent. So after a while I felt like I had smoked some pot, and told my self "I am in for a wild ride" (expecting a 6 hour journey) and masturbated. The orgasm killed the weed-like buzz I was getting and I felt relativly sober. I watched aladdin (I thought the desert would look cool) and the only thing I noticed was jafar's face was reeealy exagerated into funny positions. I then watched Pee-Wee's big adventure and Pee-Wee's eyes looked like snake eyes. They were yellow and had long pupils. Also his movements seemed really jerky and robot-like. I later wrote, "Pee-Wee, now there's a paint-huffer" on a piece of paper. I drew a little bit, and did some cool drawings, but nothing totally creative. Getting tired, I fell asleep. The next day I had my first reeal trip.

my first exposure to the magic fungi occurred on January 31st, 2001. my friend john, myself, and my girlfriend at the time doreen decided to go watch the movie Next Friday. i go to take a leak before the movie and john just pulls out some mushrooms in the bathroom. i was relatively clueless as to this hallucinogen my friend offered me, so i ate around 1-1.5 grams. halfway through the movie, auditoy hallucinations were present and i could not stop giggling. walkin' up the stairs to our car on the 3rd story was a trek in itself. i must've looked like a blithering idiot, laughing hysterically. ah well, the rest of the night doreen drove us around until 2am listenin to music and lookin' out over the valley. that experience got me interested, which led to a second trip with doreen (which was her first time.. and was also amazing), which led to a third trip with doreen, john, and my friend jay (a public day-trip), and then that led to more trips down the line with jay, pete, and doreen. i'm lovin' it

Pardon me if I repost this from the "first trip helpl" thread... I'm fifty, and up until recently, I'd had no experience with a real hallucinogen. Grass yes, a half-tab of LSD years ago that felt like speed... that's it. Drank a tall tumbler of sweetened tea at a friend's house. Killed it. I had been smoking grass and had drunk a few beers, and was in a brash frame of mind. It wasn't long until I grew very cold. I felt a tightness (?) creeping up the back of my neck. Things began to happen very fast. Whoa. I had to go home and I mean NOW. Ten minutes I hiked, shivering, through town. My perception of the street light on the trees was very sharp. I felt an expanding sensation of uncontrolled motion. I began to peak shortly after I got home. In near panic, I called a good friend, an old head. "Can you come over?" I pleaded. It was about midnight-thirty. "You'll be alright. Just relax. A little booze will take the edge off". I poured a glass of wine and took two little sips. It seemed to help. Then the walls began to sprout bark, the lamplight began to break up into shards, and my hands appeared as balloons with fingers. There was a tremendous, gripping physical rush. The most disconcerting aspect of the trip was loosing control of my thought channels. There were no channels. This frightened me most. But I did not panic, as I realized that fighting was futile. Instead, I thought of my brothers and sisters of preColumbian America who had been using psilocybin for many thousands of years. My connection to them was a tremendous help in my struggle to let myself go. The better part of my trip was spent on the sofa, a blanket around me and over my head, with the light on, worried that i'd be very late for work the next day. The rest of it was spent laughing at john. I fell asleep at three, four maybe. Made it to work. At times during the trip, when I felt confident enought to relax and the thought channels weren't too incoherent, I was very comfortable and transported, plowing new psychic ground. My memories of the good parts of the trip compel and beckon to me. That was early last Fall, I guess, or was it late Spring? In any case, I've had a pint of juice in my fridge since then, and hope that when I have the nerve to give it another try, the stuff willl still be good.

ohhh, the first time I had done shrooms I had waited months for the next season to come around. When It finally came my friend found about 3 pounds, we got three people together and ate about 1/8th each. It turned out to be realy good mush! I've been more high since then but I was just fucked! It was just after halloween so we still had some fireworks and we started firing them at houses. It was hilarious I couldn't stop laughing. We were way out in the middle of nowhere at like 3 in the morning when just out of nowhere a friend of ours just came out of nowhere with a balloon, he was all fucked on shrooms too. I remember bein so amaze that I could just reach down and pick up leaves that were on the ground. Everything just seemed so fixed. Shrooms have been my drug of choice since then
-------------------- Go through the orange yesterday I watched intently for a while to both sides, infront of me and behind me. I was impressed to learn there was another way to look... UP! More impressive still was the fact that there were beautiful stars in this direction Most amazing fact of all was the prospect of another direction when I was done with up. DOWN! Which, based on the feel through my toes would be a fine sandy beach!

Hrmm.. FIRST time i ate mushrooms i just ate a stem before school and was really fucking giggly all day and things seemed hazy and dreamlike... it was fun as hell... i saw all the kids for what they really were... kids. but the first time i really Trippd on shrooms was like a week or so after that, i mowed down a couple caps at a friend's little party... nothing happened for like 45 minutes or something and then i went to another friend's apartment for a little while. in his room was where i had my first hallucination. he had those sharp-cracky white walls, and the little ends started to protrude out of the wall like spikes and pulsate.. i was like "woah." i have nostalgic memories of that trip, riding through the town at night, listening to DJ Shadow's "midnight in a perfect world", seeing the streetlights trace by me, and just feeling so euphoric..... ahh......

Ah, the first time I tripped on mushrooms. It was 3 grams of very potent p. cubensis. A friday night with the house to myself and a nice collection of music. The funny part is I didn't really think I was tripping, I sat and just thought about how I had gotten ripped off (caught-in-a-loop thinking) then I stumbled into the bathroom and saw myself in the mirror and ZANG they hit me. I just stared and laughed my ass off as my face drooped all the way to the floor. I remember the nausea..well not so much nausea, just the "brick in stomach" feeling. I tried to have a bath to get rid of it, but in turn I just had a blast. Oh yeah and them tom green came on and I laughed my ass off. Ah, memories. Speaking of funny shows to watch while shrooming, I saw an episode of spongebob squarepants my last low dose and laughed my ass off. fucking hilarious show.
