To crumble or not?

Read many teks, even 5 different versions of the PF Tek, so i was just wondering who crumbles their cakes when their in the terranium, and who keep its whole , straight from the jars? I guess this is more of a poll, and if someone can educate me on the pro's and cons of crumbling and not crumbling? But the main question is who crumbles and who doesnt? -Victor

Better read the PF tek again. You don't crumble your cakes. You leave them whole......unless you are going to case them. And if you case them....You crumble the cakes in a container.....then put a top coat of material on. Hope that answered your question.

Yeah It depends if you're going to case or just keep as cakes. If your reading a modification of the PF tek, and they are crumbling, that means they are casing. They arent just crumbling them and then putting that into the terrarium. Look up some info on casing. (There is a ton of it here). Casing is when you crumble your cakes into a container, add a casing layer to keep the substrate (cake) moist and protected. You get a larger yeild, however its an extra few steps for a first time cultivator.

I put them in a coffee grinder and then let them recover. After that put them where you want them.
