Wet bud: Good or bad? Why?

I live on the East Coast in the States and consistently get bags of good-quality bud, ranging from the truly heady (~$60 an 1/8th, no matter what your connection) to the average BC bud variety which usually runs ~$40 for an eighth.
Lately I’ve been picking up what I can only term your average BC bud; it’s definitely good shit, but when I pick up bags of it, it always seems to be a little too moist. I’ve come across this type of bud a lot over the years and it always seems to be a little “more wet” than most of the other types. (Stems bend rather than break.) It does eventually dry out, but I always worry about it molding or something.
What do you guys do when your bags are a little “too fresh”? What causes the wetness? Is it just when they rush the harvest and don’t properly dry the bud? Is wet good or bad in your book?
Here’s a pic from Erowid that looks exactly like the bud I’ve been getting lately… I can only call it your average, dank bud: http://www.erowid.org/plants/show_image.php?i=cannabis/cannabis4.jpg
Does anyone else get shit like this and find that it’s frequently wet?
(I hope this message is somewhat coherent; I’m nicely baked at the moment.)
Smoke ‘em if you got ‘em!

Also, does anyone have any good pointers on how to best dry out a bag that's a little too moist?

Well, moisture adds weight, which you're paying for, so it's not a good thing, IMHO. If they're not too wet, you can just lay them out in the open air for about 24 hours or so, and they'll dry nicely. Just keep the cat away, as cats love to munch on bud.

I like my bud a little drryer. YOu get more THC per weight, as well as it's easier to pull the buds off the stems for easy packing/rolling.

Moist bud usually means it wasn't cured correctly; or the dealer is conning some peeps. Neither is good.

Yeah your dealer could either be spraying the bud to add a little bit of extra weight, or not thoroughly dried or cured properly.

is there "too dry"? if something is bone-dry but not fragile-dry is it bad? fragile-dry being what you would get if you dried bud out on a hot plate so that it would be very brittle... or something along those lines.
my friends who are [airquotes]experts[/airquotes] say that dank weed is a little wet. my friend took his fingers out of a bag of dank weed one time and they were slippery like if it was sweat.

Bone-dry weed is best.
For one, you get your full gram's worth and not 0.7gr bud + 0.3gr water Then, it stores way better. It wont mold or degrade slowly. Then, on top of that, you can choose to rehydrate it by enclosing it with a lemon peel, and it will take on the delicious flavor as an extra.
But the bottom line:
Imagine buying an ounce. Expensive, no? Now imagine that of that ounce, 8 grams or so is water weight and your pot getting moldy and useless because of it.
Only one thing causes moist bud: GREED.

Wet bud is bad. It's a common misconception that "sticky-icky" weed is the best . . it just means that it's weight was inflated or it was adulterated.

A lot of times that bulk indoor is dried on racks only until it is dry to the touch, bagged, and sent out (for maximum turn-around & profit). Even if it is bone dry to the touch, moisture will come out of the stems when it is sealed up.

Not necessarily.
Properly dried & cured buds can still be sticky-icky. Besides plant genetics, trichomes tend to be stickier when the buds ripen in a very humid environment.
This is why dry sift hash is produced in arid areas of the world (Morocco for example) and rub hash is made in humid areas (India, Pakistan, etc). Rub hash is the only option because the trichs are far too sticky to shake/pound off the buds.

wet bud is not nessecarily bad, My mate gets some of the tastiest bud around (literally) and its really moist .. because its fresh. gotta love the sticky icky Although if you've been skanked by some cuntish dealer spraying the bud with water, the best thing to do is whack it under a lamp, or put it on a metal tray and put it on top of a lamp.

Ya the shit I just picked up was still a little wet (and leafy as shit too but thats a different story. Throw it in a paper bag for a couple nights and open then bag a couple times a day that'll usually dry it out a little. Sounds like we might even be smokin the same shit. I wish I never bought the bag the small amount it was dried was obviously a super quick dry because its so harsh.

with those prices moisture is the least of your problems...
Otherwise no, moisture isn't bad if you know the person you get it from, then it's just fresh, otherwise it could have been moistened...
