Equadoran's light printers?

I've tried 3 different times to print armloads of Equadoran caps from the Hawk's Eye. Either no spores dropped, or as in this final trial, I got very light spore prints. Is this normal for this strain? Or am I doing something wrong?

my EQ print well. I make some pretty dark syringes.
How are you taking a print?

you're probably doing something wrong. may be one or a combination of the following:
a) let the caps mature a little more before attempting to print. waiting long enough so that you start to see spores drop while they're in the FC means they'll print dark and quickly
b) you didn't allow them to print long enough. 24h is pretty standard for normal printing. some let them go as long as 48h.
c) the cap had no way to dry. it needs to dry up some to encourage the spores to drop. if you're covering them with a glass or a jar, make sure its not flat on the surface and "sealing" up the area, you can lay it on a clean towel, or wedge something under the edge of the cup so there's a little crack and it can breathe. i like to print inside my glovebox and i stick a bowl of desiccant right in there near the cup-covered-caps to speed things along. ive gotten dark prints in as little as an hour using the proper combination of (a) above and the desiccant in the glovebox trick.
you'll get a feel for the timing of when to snip your caps and get 'em printing after a try or two, don't be discouraged

Thanks for the replies. I had no trouble getting spores galore from the PF Amazonian strain. So I treated the Ecuadorans the same as I treated the Amazonian. I'm going to let my last flush of Ecuadorans go for the long run. But on my other attempts, some of the caps were already curling up. And they still barely dropped any spores. Even the caps I let sit for 48 hours barely dropped anything. I usually don't cover the caps because I do the multi-spore print set up with white card stock inside my glove box. When they curl up would it be OK to straighten them out by laying something on top of them?
