How Long Can I Wait To Harvest

I woke up this morning and much to my surprise the veils had broken.

But in about an hour I have to leave home for about 10 hours. Is it better to do a rush harvest or wait 10 hours to take my time?

Ok, harvested. They won't fit on my dinky little scale but here's a good pic.

And here's a shot of my drying setup. The container is an Igloo. The white stuff is desiccant.

I intend to close the lid on the Igloo. Is this right?

its right... but thats not enough desiccant to fully dry all those, i know you had a time crunch but next time you want to fan dry or air dry first. dessicants can hold around 1/3rd their total weight in water so guestimating that's only gonna get you part way in a couple days time. the mushrooms also have a tendency to stick together during the first bit of drying which you're probably going to notice by the time you get back... i like to spread 'em out as much as possible in a big flat area and blow air over them to get them started... you're gonna be picking them all apart now as those piles are gonne be "glued" together... no real harm done but you'll see what i mean

While you're out, go buy a food dehydrator at Wally World. They're about $35. Worth every penny, IMHO.

my dear lord... you're going to have enough shrooms to last you a year... it's really too bad that you build a tolerance to shrooms... otherwise you could eat some every day for a few months :P

For whatever reason I lucked out. They were a little dried but not really stuck together. More like stuck to the napkins. Bad idea.
So now I have them drying on a larger wire frame (an aquarium lid cleaned properly) and a fan blowing air across them.

WBS spawned to 1/3 Schultz Soil Conditioner (I think it's expanded clay bits, like crushed hydroton) and 2/3rds hpoo. Casing was 1/2 coir, 1/2 of that soil conditioner.

Yeah, that's my next mycotoy.

Thanks Capless. Yes, Ecuador.

And that's just one 12"x9" monotub. I have so much LC it's disgusting.
But these shrooms are going to be well distributed among my very, very close friends.
