Homemade syringes germination?
    #580626 - 03/16/02 02:04 PM (21 years, 8 months ago)

I recently made soem home made syringes. I got a few sporeprints from www.sporeworks.com and I used their syringe making tek to make 10 syringes. 5 syringes of TC and 5 of Tazmanian. I let them sit for about 15 hours after I put spores in them and its been 5 days now and I see no germination in any of my pint jars of rye berries.

I scraped off about 1/5 of the quarter sized prints for each syringe. and I transfered the spores very quickly. I put about 1.5 CCs of liquid in each of my 9 jars. Did I do something wrong, has anyone else had no germination from home made syringes?

i thought spores required at least 24 hours to rehydrate after you put them in the syringe-i always let mine sit at least 2 days to make sure-some strains are slower than others-i incoulated some jars of pink buffalos and ecuadors at the same time-the ecuador was almost 100% before the pink buffalo even germinated-now the ecuadors are cased and the pink buffalos are 75%

no, 12 hours is adequate some people dont even wait and let them rehydrate in the jars but i recomend waiting.....

theres always a possibillity... most likely everything will be ok... as long as you did everything ok and didnt kill the spores by heat or chemicals than everything should be ok.

be patient! if you did everything corectly and clean you will have germanation very soon, sometimes it takes a few days.

there is no need to rehydrate the spores if the print is fresh. i use fresh prints for my syringes and i sometimes use the syringe a few hours later. trust me, if the print is fresh there is no need to rehydrate.
