Canberra Hunt - 3rd Time a charm?

Afternoon,
heres what we got from a hunt today, lucky this time we had a camera!
* Habitat: amoungst tea tree/pine and native wattle, it was growing on dung (suspected wombat dung)
* Characteristics of the gills: Dark brown/Grey colour, the gills are attached to the stem about 1-2mm below the cap, there is a pattern where the first attaches to the stem, the second goes halfway and the third goes about 1/3 towards the stem.
* Characteristics of the stem: thin, slimey, fine strands, bruises darker after picking, bends without snapping.
* Characteristics of the cap 1 - 1.5cm in diameter, perfect convex, slimey, gold in colour with a dark nipple and a dark ring around the edges. I did not see any there that were flaring in old age.
* Spore print color: I KNOW! I KNOW!!, still waiting, hasn't dropped yet (after 30 mins)
* Color that the mushroom bruises: dark grey / brown
* Scent of the mushroom: dense aroma of the forest.
spore print will be on tomorrow unless it drops tonight, any suggestions just throw them up there, cheers

yeah but. . .
trust me on this the stem is alot lighter than the cap, and they arent watery, they were transported in tissue, and the film is still there??

i agree they don't look active. they dont bruise blue, the stem isnt white and the cap colour doesnt look right, the stem shouldnt be slimy either.

the stem is white, it was taken under a log, im sure that the stem is alot lighter, i remember when i picked them the stem was white with lighter white hair strands, i have finished the spore print and it looked choc brown/purple, it was hard to tell i am repeating this print again on white paper.

ok, I was just having another close look at them, the stems are white, for sure, some of the specimens still have black semi bruised stems however it is drying a little darker. if it helps, i have been told they have a 'store' mushroom aroma, the spore print is still coming along however so far it seems that they have a purple tinge. I will leave the other prints until tommorow, any ideas?

well from the photo the stem look yellowish but its probably bad lighting. if the sporeprints are indeed purple then you may actually have some kind of a Psilocybe. but again no blue bruising means that it surely isnt active

dumb question. . . . when the blueing occurs it is quite evident?, is there the possibility that it looks more black than blue?

Hey wazzard, excellent pics.
Yeah - the stem gives it away, also the caps a little weirdly coloured and shaped. Are you sure the stems are white? They don't look white to me, a definate hint of brown in there.
You're on kinda the right track - thats a pretty similar lookalike. Keep at it!

Def not SUBs......one thing you want to mention when describing the stem is to note any type of ring zone (annular) on it.....in pic one you seem to have a rather significant persistant thick annular zone left behind.....and if the stem color is true on the monitor.....thats not close to the kind of white you want to be looking for and it looks like its probably not under a Euc. log in pic 1......could of just been the camera probably.....also a close shot from the bottom showing the gills as this will highlight them and the stem......
And for safety you want definate purple in your spore colors when starting out and definate no two ways about it bluing.....I think a good rule of thumb is if you have to ask if its PURPLE AND BLUE ........then it AINT !
very interesting shrooms.....one thing bout finding these is now you know of another shroom thats similiar thats not a SUB....
What helps so much to figuring what you have sometimes is knowing what you dont have....
