PEACE

:mushroom2:zippoz:mushroom2:

"in times of widespread chaos and confusion, it has been the duty of more advanced human beings - artists, scientists, clowns, and philosophers - to create order. In such times as ours however, when there is too much order, too much m management, too much programming and control, it becomes the duty of superior men and women and women to fling their favorite monkey wrenches into the machinery. To relieve the repression of the human spirit, they must sow doubt and disruption"

"People do it every day, they talk to themselves ... they see themselves as they'd like to be, they don't have the courage you have, to just run with it."

Yeah, those Toonces skits were from SNL back in '89 or '90. I used to watch them with my girlfriend and our cat when we lived in Santa Cruz. Someone sent that to me on MySpace, and it made me think of good times.

PS: Those crazy South Park kids are trying to cross-breed an elephant and a pot-bellied pig for their school science project...

I hated Hwy 17. I always took Hwy 9, or some of the more obscure backwoods roads. I used to live in that castle in Ben Lomond about 20 years ago; back when it was a cool party house. I hear it's a bed-and-breakfast now...

I haven't been back to to Monterey Bay or San Fransisco Bay since the early nineties. I hear the Santa Cruz area is really over-built now. I don't think I'd like it. I keep heading north to get away from people and Walmarts. I think eventually I'm going to live in the Yukon...

Yeah, that's the thing. It's the change that is hard to take. I think Carmel in the 40s or 50s would have been paradise, but it was already hard to take in the 80s. I think the same thing's happened in Santa Cruz now.

I used to live down in Rio Del Mar by that old cement boat on the pier. You used to be able to walk all the way out on the boat, and I hear it's fenced off now. It was a nice place to live. It was nice being able to see the sunsets and the porpoises every evening, and the vast armies of feral cats that would stream down the cliffs, out of the hills, and descend on the beach every night...

I dont like change either,

Back in IL, I lived in a very very small town the country surrounded by cornfields. It was 25 min to the nearest town. And year by year Chicago was getting nearer and nearer though it was like 50 miles away. I saw subdivision popping up, new roads and STOP lights..wtf

Then malls starting to pop up with fast food joints. And the fucking traffic, there was fucking traffic, in the country, it was getting worse. And then they started to talk about a new freeway to cut right through the country, right next to our town, fucking Dennis Hastert pet project.

Anyway I got out of there, and I have not looked back.

Yeah, I'm thinking north of the Arctic Circle should be safe for a while. They have a Walmartâ„¢ in Antarctica now, but that's different; it's mostly chum and Seattle's Best coffee...
