anybody out there have a clever way of dealing with jar lids in a dishwasher? they're a pain in my ass. they don't fit on any racks because they fall through the holes... i can put them in the silverware basket thingy but only one or two in each "partition" otherwise they end up sticking together and not getting clean... lids with holes have the metal burrs on the side they were punched through so even washing by hand is a pain in my ass because it snags on the sponge. just wondering if anybody has maybe come up with a gadget already to hold them in place, im thinking of making a little rack for them...
dishwasher gel detergent has bleach in it and has always done me good on the jars themselevs and even the rings are easy enough its just those pesky lids...

yeah, i use a lingerie dryer bag and just lay it on the top rack with all the lids facing down and spread out... seems to work pretty good

oh, and if you don't know what one of those is... it's just a zippered mesh bag you can buy at your local walmart/target/superstore

Any nylon type mesh net sack, with a draw string will help out.
LOL, for plastic lids, I cut the leg of old panty hose & stuff them in.

I keep the outer ring and go and buy new inside lids. $2
just drill new holes, and hamer down... IMO easiest way. I also have a scrub brush that i;'d hit em with before just throwing into my dishwasher. After 3 times they get soo beat up i'd want to buy new one's anyway

Gosh, I've been using mine for years. I never wash them. Just scrape the crud off from the previous use and put them up dry. They get sterlilized with the next use anyway. You can always hit them with a green pad when they get a bit rusty. RR
