This has been my experience with P.viridis: I Grew mine from leaf cuttings. There used to be a pictorial tek here but I can't find it. At any rate the individual who posted it was better at it than me. They got I think something like 5 plants off a single leaf. 3 has been my tops. It takes a looooong time for the guys to get going. I started them off in a terrarium. I took them out when they were about a year old. I have them acclimated so that I don't have to water them. I live in the southeast us so it is fairly humid here though. Mine are about 2 years old and just now starting to really seem to be growing (realitivly)fast. They started putting off secondary growth about a month ago. As far as light goes. You'ld probably have better luck with a 2 or 4 bulb full spectrum fluro set-up than the hps. They like SOME dircet light but not more than a few hours. Use a good bit of perlite in the soil mix. You want something really light. Keep in mind that rainforest soil is heavy on the sandy side. I had mine indoor for a while. I just used indirect sunlight. The stems need stimulation from a fan indoors. It was amazing to see how much all of them responded to being out in the wind. Anyways I hope that does something for you. As far as fertilizer goes, I use a shitload of organics and they seem to like it. Keep in mind that I am talking about established plants though. Some one else said something about container size. They like big containers, but its not like Salvia though, they are better about being rootbound. However if you want them to get big, you need a good sized container.

Man, I REALLY appreciate the info. I ordered a live plant, that, I'm assuming, is established. Now that you mention floros, I actually have 2 T3 ballasts that I'm not using. I'll probably have some sort of accomodation for their need of air movement (maybe two fans or something).
