Tripping to help problem/sickness; tripping to heal oneself.

Would one say it is alright to trip in the same reason shamans would, but without the training or mental status of a shaman or healer? For example, if i had a problem or worry, would you find it a helpful thing to trip (on an insightful drug) to ride of the bad thoughts, sickness? And i was also wondering about what might happen if in a traditional shamansitic tribe, a shaman tried to heal a tribemember who had a pyschosis, possibly bipolar disorder or pchizophrenia?

Intent and personal power are the important things IMO.
If you have them you can use psychedelics to great benefit. If you don't you may loose your marbles or stay as silly as ever.

Hmmm thanks, that seems like a great way to state it.

What you reap is what you sow.
You have to feel it in your heart, that tripping is the right thing to do. Your wisdom will decide. Time will tell whether or not you were truly wise. =)
Be careful.

Hey , I would recommend reading The Psychedelic Book of the Dead (based on the tibetan book of the dead, written by Timothy Leary)
It explains the psychedelic process, so you can use it in a more profound way
Also, always remember the techniques to use during tripping, which mainly involve letting go. I believe if you constantly let go while tripping, all of ones personal issues might get uprooted.
good luck man, I too believe in the power of psychedelics to heal, and Ive done it succesfully many times. stay blessed

Nurtured, such as one being heavily medicated on anti-pyschotics?

Very true, although it seems only natural to one to feel the need to mask things in everyday life, most dont face reality without it being somewhat less diffucult.
