Such a good movie. I say this because it kind of reminds me of my life. Just looking for a little peace and belonging in a mundane yet chaotic life.
I also fell in love with Natalie Portman's character. Wish I could find a girl like that. Someone to swim in the shallow end and talk about home with.
To anyone who hasn't seen it I highly recommend it.
Zach Braff wrote, directed, and starred in it by the way. Very impressive.

The last quarter of Garden State is utter wank! Not bad up till that point but the ending rang false - the whole setting off to and then choosing not to go on the plane was phoney.
Also Natalie Portman looked like she was 12, which made Zach Braff's character seem very dodgy.
Sorry, but I thought the film was deeply overrated.

The first time I watched it I kinda shrugged it off as an okay movie.
The second time I liked it a lot.
Maybe the third time I'll go fanatical about it

Overall, I thought the movie was very thoughtful. Some of it was over dramatized (as the before mentioned last moment plane decision), but I don't think that it was enough to get me to stop liking the rest of it.
I liked it enough to buy the DVD, and that is saying a lot.

Hey thanks for giving away the ending, I mean, you could have made it ambiguous, but fuck that!
Screw everyone who hasn't seen it.

Fuck yes, this movie rocks... if you like those sappy emotional movies from time to time as I do. This movie is genuinely FEEL GOOD. One of the best things about it is the super chilled out sound track

I thought it was good.
I think Natalie Portman's best performance $ character is in the movie Closer. I just saw it on HBO a few days ago, good fucking movie.
Oh and she's a stripper, what a tease!
