Nervous... contam?

Hola.
Knocked up some birdseed 1/2 pints on 2/28. Over the last few days patchy white spots started appearing and are growing. They look REALLY white, almost too white... not real wispy, and no other colors... but I am worried that it might be cobweb mold. Anybody know of a good way to tell the difference, aside from letting "it" grow?
Thanks,
Slo

Sounds safe to me, but I'm a beginner too. I've had good mycelium growth going before and I reckon you have nothing to worry about.
Look at it this way: if it's cobweb mold you have to chuck it all out anyway. I highly doubt it is so just let it grow. Nothing to lose.
If you want expert advice, post some pictures.

Yeah, pics would be key, but alas, no cam...
More info:
Working with Ecuadors, 1/2 pints with straight birdseed (Audobon Park 100% natural) and using Anno's Polyfill Tek.
The jars are being housed in a portable greenhouse, with heat applied for 1/2 hour every hour (timer.) The temps range from 82-84, and I have an air purifier/ionizer in with it all...
I'll get a hold of a cam and post some picks...
Thanks all, this is the first time ANYTHING has grown in my experiments, so I hope it's myc.... keep 'em crossed for me!
Peas,

Well the way to tell the difference is mycelium is snow-white and thicker. Cobweb mold is more grayish and whispy. I think you're on the right track.

Slo,
Go look in the contam forum.
There are some good pictures of Cob web mold.
Once you see it.....you won't forget what it looks like.
You can also do a search....and find a picture.

cobweb mols isnt bright, and is darker than mycelium. it looks exactly like a cobweb. i'f your mycelium is really white, it's healthy.

Alright, thanks for the input... I guess I'm just being paranoid! I'll try to post some pics later today. I want to see what you all think of the new setup...
