Viable seeds from scored poppy pod???

I was wondering if it's still possible to get viable seeds from a poppy pod that has already been lanced. I've read about farmers that mark pods that give off alot of latex so they can save the seeds, so I'm assuming it's possible. If so, how much lancing is too much before you risk damaging the seeds? I'd hate to NOT lance my best pods. I can't wait to slice them.

Can anyone please help me out here? I've got these pods ready to score :

And I wanted to know if I did this to them :

...Could I still get viable seeds from them or will it ruin the seeds? How much or how little can I lance them without ruining the seeds?
Thanks!

The seedlings I have growing now are grown from seeds I harvested from poppies that I lanced. They're doing fine. Hell, I even lanced the pods a tad bit prematurely (I'm an impatient man). Seeds are still viable, and are sprouting.
Out of curiosity, how are you germinating, and how long is it taking for sprouts to form?
I just toss the seeds on the soil where I want them to be, and keep it moist. With that system, I seem to be needing to wait about a month for germination, which to me seems pretty damn slow. Perhaps it's just the genetic line I'm dealing with, as the original seeds I sowed were slow germinators as well. However, I wonder if I might be able to do something to expedite germination.
By the way, what variety of poppy are those pods? they're pretty damn big.

The pods above were Persian Blue obtained here : http://ethnogens.stores.yahoo.net/
I also obtained Gigs and Hens & Chicks from there and here they are in full bloom :

Some of them I started in peat pellets and some I just threw on the ground and kept it moist. They germinated in about 2 weeks. The Gig pods are growing at a fast pace each day, but the Persian Blues bloomed first, that's why they're bigger at the moment, but I'm sure the Gigs will out grow them soon.
Anyone ever ordered seeds from this site : http://www.mothergeckobotanicals.com/Poppy-Seed-p-1-c-13.html
If so, are they reliable? Thanks!
