Verm on Lid

Is it ok to put some moist verm on the lid where you birth your cake onto? Does it need to be sterilized?

always sterilize, and if you read up on the dunk&roll I think you'll be pleased

yep.  i do it like so:



you'll see from all the pins around the bottom they really like that. :thumbup:

lid inside the ring upside down makes like a little bowl.  fill it level with verm and spray it down wet with a mister, set cake on top.  roll cake in verm and sprinkle a little more on top of cake (although you'll notice i didn't roll these guys...), and mist that down lightly too so its damp.  i've never ever sterilized verm for those purposes and *never* once had a contam problem after more cakes than you can count.
