blue stem?

on 2 mushrooms the stem is blue inside(and some blobs had blue too). is it ok to eat?

Nobody is accusing you of being a "dumb-ass" (not that merely touching the mushroom would qualify you as one!), but if you didn't know that Psilocybin mushrooms go blue you're obviously a complete novice. Nothing wrong with that, everyone's gotta start somewhere.

The blue stain on psylocybe mushrooms comes from the oxidation of psilocin/psilocybin. As far as I know, once the chemicals turn blue they are no longer psychoactive (I'll look around for this info in a few minutes).

Lots of blue coloring could (I assume) indicate an abundance of psilocin in the mushroom. If there is a lot of psilocin, there is a much better chance that some of it will oxidize and turn blue. It could also indicate improper drying resulting in too much degredation of the psilocin.

I always find it funny when people sell me shrooms and say something like "look how blue they are! that blue stuff will get you fucked up!".

I dont know if this helps or not but all the mushrooms my friend has grown are a dark blue inside when they are broken in half.

A lot of mycology pages/books I've read that contain information on psilocybe mushrooms state that a blue "ring" or simple blue coloring is usually found in the middle of the stem.

Thats still touching it, mushrooms don't just bruise blue when you touch them with your finger!!!
Touching it means anything coming in to contact with the mushroom, from knives and forks to alien anal probes.

Mushrooms will turn blue whether you touch them or not once they die. It doesn't matter if they turn blue, so don't worry about it.
