I Won't Miss The Shroomery

I considered a "Big Farewell" and leave in a huff, but coming back dragging one's tail between one's legs is always embarrassing.
I thought about just leaving and not saying anything and seeing if anyone noticed or commented, but that didn't seem the same as actually leaving. Besides, I already tried that and nobody noticed or commented.
I decided to just stick around. That way I won't miss the Shroomery.

Commings and goings are cool. Everytime I say I'm going or people assume I'm going, I get the greatest PMs, sometimes from folk I didn't even know were reading my posts. That connection alone is worth it.

This whole leaving thing kinda seems like a big deal, is it because everyone gets addicted to it,
of course no one gives a shit if you leave, there is so many mods here to keep everybody company, I don't mind if I don't here from someone for a good while, but its also alright to get a new poster commin in with some fresh prospectives,
I think I already wore my welcome out, if thats the case I'm quittin cold turkey too

I'd miss you if you left, Lunar.
You're cool
PS: I never make a big stink about leaving, thats for Drama Queens. If you look at my post history there are large gaps where I found something better to do

Ever had a job where you thought you were indispensible and you left or worse got fired and they somehow managed to survive without you?

Well kinda, but not really, I had a job were they practically fired me five times, and each time I bullied there asses into allowing me to keep it, and sometimes it took some strong persuasion, It pays to over will someone, similar to like a salesman does to an elderly, but I did this to my boss,
so what are you saying, that indispensable people are the only ones that get any love.

It is sad to say, but I had a job for 14 years where the management's fondest dream would have been to fire me, but they were scared to do it...I had a bit of an attitude problem.

I was pretty belligerant. I did my job very well, but if they showed up with the bullshit I became very angry and abusive. I never made threats, only promises. They knew I was on the level...not bluffing...and I wasn't. I was genuine...genuinely insane.

I never threw a tantrum. I was voted most likely to come to work with an AK-47 once by a group of co-workers. A friend of mine...a mind shattered Vietnam vet who worked there...on hearing this looked downcast and said "What about me...I'm angry and dangerous too?" I really felt sorry for him.

so what are you saying, that indispensable people are the only ones that get any love.
Kind of, the indispensable people where I worked were the owner's two sons and then the son's son who took my office after I was canned.
I tried to bully my boss but it was too late and while he didn't say it came down to blood being thicker than water.

well I guess you didn't specialize in anything important, where they had to depend on you, in that case your screwed,
the best thing to do though is never back down, I hate all these kiss ass prissy bosses who when some owner comes in, they change like light switch, there all of sudden all high toned and nice and shit, makes me want to barf, yeah I'll get right on it, yeah sir, whatever you say,
I'm like mean muggin them, wtf do you want attitude, they hardly ever do anything, I hate insinuating that tight rope game, play it straight or don't play it at all

Damn right. What makes it even more "funny" is that it is absolutely true...that is funny and scary.

Actually my job was very specialized and I was quite good at it but sometimes it just doesn't matter and you're screwed anyway. They had already made millions of dollars from my efforts and were going to make millions more in service parts and repeat business so what's a little less to a multi-millionaire? Besides, now his son works there and that's worth not making as much after he fired me, right?
Anyway, fuck 'em, I make more money now than when I worked there and don't have to put up with their BS.
