Dreaming?

"Nothing you can see, feel, or think is so. Even sin and virtue, merit and demerit are not what they appear. Usually the bad and the good are matter of convention and custom and are shunned or welcomed, according to how the words are used.
Just realize that you are dreaming a dream you call the world, and stop looking for ways out. The dream is not your problem. Your problem is that you like one part of your dream and not another. Love all, or none of it, and stop complaining. When you have seen the dream as a dream, you have done all that need be done."

yeah what if the dream is a nightmare that can't be avoided, like being in jail for your whole entire life, or some other garbage situation, then what, is this some type of real world wisdom or something

The trick is to master dreaming.
-------------------- "A warrior is a hunter. He calculates everything. That's control. Once his calculations are over, he acts. He lets go. That's abandon. A warrior is not a leaf at the mercy of the wind. No one can push him; no one can make him do things against himself or against his better judgment. A warrior is tuned to survive, and he survives in the best of all possible fashions." ― Carlos Castaneda

What happens when you wake up from a bad dream? Your strong feeling of it being real quickly pass like the clouds in the sky. If you have nice dream however, when u wake up, maybe you want to go back to that nice dream,
But again with time, these feelings pass, everything is like this for us.

In fact, when u begin to recognise the dreamlike qualities of the waking state, naturally u begin to have lucid dreaming, this is a natural evolution of conciousness. Of course, this applies in reverse order also.

You can approach it from the other way also. Practicing Lucid dreaming can help one awaken in the dream of "reality". And lets not forget the lowly psychedelic experience.

As for your "lowley" status judgement on psycadelics, i think you dont give them enough credit.

Probably not. I shall re-evaluate them. Please send samples for trial.

I can easily control my dreams when I am asleep. I have always been able to do it. One can only do it when he/she realizes that they are in fact dreaming. You have to wake up within the dream. I have had some luck with this while awake also. Has anyone else ever controlled the clouds? I know if you haven't done it you probably think it's just coincidence or that I am just nuts, but it is a very real phenomenon.
I was first exposed to it while reading a trip report a couple of years ago. The author said that while tripping he could tell which clouds would do what way before they did.
Then, about a year ago my friend told me that him and his cousin used to control the clouds when they were kids. I kinda fluffed it off until a couple months ago.
Recently I have tried this with much success....

I have also tried this with the wind and rain. I have had success, but not enough times to totally rule out coincidence. If anyone else has tried this and knows what I'm talking about please give me your thoughts.

when I'm on shrooms, the clouds formulate into any mental pattern I'd like it, this was one dam good shroom trip, also I could see light bend, and make my hand transparent, kinda a whitish bluish glow, I could see faces in trees, mirrors, and aluminum foil, I could see different patterns like smiles or something within flickering shadows
what I really like is to close the door in a bathroom, in total darkness, loaded on shrooms it becomes some weird galaxy trip,

One time me a two friends tripped together. On the come up the dog tried to hump me, so that put us (me and the dog) on uneasy terms. Anyway, once it hit, we went into a completely dark room. The damn dog had to come with us 'cause otherwise he would sit outside the door whining. As soon as we closed the door my friends each took a different corner of the room. I headed toward my corner, but something kept weaving around my feet and legs. I thought it was the dog so I kept moving trying to juke him. After about thirty seconds or so I looked over and saw that the dog was laying down by the door, (and had been the entire time), yet there was still this thing slithering around my ankles. I didn't say anything to my friends and just sat down. After the trip we were reflecting and then one of my friends mentioned that as soon as we went into the dark room, there was a snake winding around my feet. Then my other friend got all excited and said that he saw the same thing. I didn't see a snake clearly because I was looking forward trying not to bump into the wall as I tried to rid myself of this thing that was slithering around me. There was definately something there on some plane of reality that night....
Sorry kinda off topic........

i've recently been reading up on lucid dreaming, and how questioning your reality lends itself to bringing about lucid dreams, so i'm interested in what you mean when you say 'when u begin to recognise the dreamlike qualities of the waking state'. example?
btw...great quote
