I quit by smoking a joint everytime I wanted a cig for about 4 or 5 days, then the cravings started to subside.

I quit drinking around that time.
I'd rather be high all the time.

Well buying a pack of gum isn't going to give you self control.

i quit by just not buying packs. i dont like bumming smokes, so i only have one occasionaly, and i can go days without even thinking about one now.
support from friends helps a lot.

Nicotine gum will just prolong the cravings cause you're still getting nicotine. Everyone I've talked to about quiting have always gone cold turkey. Ultimately it comes down to self control. If you can quit with gum you can quit without.

yea i hear you, i've been wanting to quit smoking for a couple of days now. I've been thinking about it. It's 3 o'clock, i've been awake for 3 hours, haven't had one yet. Kinda just taking each day as a new experiment. I had 5 cloves yesterday, just about which is better tahn the pack a day i've been smoking the last month.
I have to find a replacment for it. I don't want pot to be it becuase part of the reason i'm qutting smoking is all the money i have to spend on it and my lacking of that money. The other is that i'm sick of like smelling like it and it's clearly really really bad for you.
I guess the best way to quit smoking is just not to smoke. you want it, you know you're gonna want it, Chug a glass of water instead, or, eat a clementine. those are the two things i've heard. Chugging a glass of water doesn't calm my cravings though. ugh this is making me want a cigarette SOOOOOO bad!

I was wondering if there's a nicotine spray you could spray your weed with and just smoke that.

damn thats a good site thanks
theres a place not too far from my house that is kind of like an acupuncture thing but instead of needles they use lazers
like they find the spot on the back of your neck, shoot a lazer onto it and you never want a cigarrette ever again
they swear by what they do saying they have a 90% success rate, which is HUGE. they also give follow-up appointments for free to anybody that has had cravings or has smoked
its only 300 bucks too, i might have to look into this and i'll find the website too

For $300 I'll punch you in the fase every time you need a cigarette. I read something about that in my psychology book.

I'm not a smoker therefore I never experienced quitting but all the people I know that successfully quit went cold turkey. You will quit when your ready to quit end of discussion, gums and patches won't work and I beleive addiction is all mental therefore it can be overcome easily if a person truley tries.

i quit in february and it wasn't as hard as i expected, mainly because i wanted to, i was ready. but a post i read on the shroomery a while back made a big impact on me. somebody said something like "you are a bitch, if you surrender to cigs every day. you gotta have more self control" i had to prove to myself i was stronger than fucking cigarettes. I've saved hundreds of dollars already. Although, I will smoke with friends when we are drinking.
