so was it eve who ate the apple first?
was the fall of man her fault?
Or was it really adam who ate the apple, and just blamed eve for it?
Some say: "It was men who wrote the bible, and they gave a biased account."
To them I say:
That's women's fault for not inventing writing first. They were probably too busy admiring shiny things.

eve: "You said not to eat the fruit, but i thought you were just fuckin with me, so I ate it anyway."
God: "You thought I was just fucking with you? OK, well then that's what we'll do. Jesus?"
Jesus: "Yeah, Dad?"
God: "Let's go bury brontasaurus heads on the earth. Then, if anyone says they believe in dinosaurs, we'll send them to Hell."
eve: "Why are you fucking with us like that?"
God: "Bitch you asked for it, you got it."

Apparently you haven't heard the Sethian version of the story. According to it, the God in the garden of Eden(and the whole Old Testament) was the Demiurge, a false God who decieves us into acceptance of the physical world as reality. The serpent is actually Christ, who seeks to liberate mankind with gnosis, so he tells Adam and Eve to eat from the Tree of Knowledge(gnosis), thus allowing them to understand their true form.

I sadly reminisce about a time when women came on S&P too, prior to sexist jackasses making them feel unwelcome with their towering displays of idiocy
And now fully half of the possible perspectives on spiritual and philosophical affairs are too disgusted to be bothered posting.
I was hoping to keep my number of posts at 420 for a little longer, but I felt that needed to be said.

now that's a cool story, though I do believe its kind of disrespectful to big G.
by the way, I know seth, and he's an asshole. A fun asshole, but an asshole nonetheless.
No, the truth is that everything was once perfect, and in disobeying God, man fell from perfection.
For the past several hundred thousand years man has been trying to climb back up to God so we can be perfect again.
Was the fall supposed to happen? I believe so. It created a diversity that didn't exist in God's original creation.
But that doesn't mean that man is supposed to keep falling. We're supposed to get out of God's debt so we can truly be free.

"No, the truth is that everything was once perfect, and in disobeying God, man fell from perfection."
Um, that's YOUR truth, not mine, pal. If you want to claim bits of scripture as absolute truth, there's a forum for that.
"For the past several hundred thousand years man has been trying to climb back up to God so we can be perfect again."
Then why does (hu)man(kind) keep moving away from how we were before biting the apple, towards arrogance and the pursuit of knowledge and clothes and the like? Seems like if the lot of us were really striving for the pre-apple perfection, we'd embrace our naked-ape-yness instead of disdaining it and finding it distasteful.

I'd say the bible and adam an eve, can only be taken metaphorically, the story is to illustrate some point, that deception was born in this world through womens role, women have the power to manipulate situations easier, because they play a different role than man, as acquiring their approval, If we were perfect, we would be like animals or something, implying consiousness has to be decided by God, not just evolutionary process of cause n effect, if this was the case, then animals would also evolve into higher levels of intelligence, for the most part, for what I observed I've seen their evolution come to a limit

"for the most part, for what I observed I've seen their evolution come to a limit..." --Capliberty
Vonnegut made the same mistake in Galapagos, assuming that the forms animals have now are somehow finished products. I mean, look at an ostrich. Does that seem like a finished product to you, or something on it's way to being something less awkward and goofy-looking?
"then animals would also evolve into higher levels of intelligence..." -- Capliberty
Well, give 'em a minute, wouldja?! I mean, think about it, sophisticated human intelligence came about over the course of only the last 750 000 - 500 000 years or so. The blink of an eye, on an evolutionary scale of time. Dolphins are trying to catch up but lack the manipulator-limbs to make their intelligence easily recognizable. Chimps make and use simple tools. Elephants display a wide range of emotion. And little invertebrate octopuses pull off some brilliant shit that makes me question the whole 'Spines are required for a sophisticated nervous system' thing. They're on their way to 'higher' intelligence, provided we don't wipe the lot of them out before they get the opportunity.

really now. You think there is a possibility that a woman invented writing?
OK, I'll give you that. But I think its a very slim possibility.
Only men have the innate cognitive skill set to achieve something like that. I'll give women credit for art, maybe even music, but writing is a male doctrine.
how many women are writing on this forum right now? huh? what's the ratio of male to female in a forum like this?

That's completely mental.
if only that were true. Sadly many people including her herself have confirmed that she basically went into our relationship with the intention of taking everything I have, everything I am, and everything I will be. Taking it through treachery. Even after we broke up, I had to listen to her and her friends laugh about how she stole my soul, stole my balls, blah blah, blah, blah.
That was my introduction to women. Taught me exactly what they are.
I remember I used to pull wads of money from my pocket and her eyes would light up like a demons. She was so impressed with wealth, it was sickening. Its just pieces of paper, you dumb whore.
people in mi familia print those pieces of paper. Truth is, we make vastly more important things than money.
So anyways, these days I only trust women as far as I can throw them. Anyone who has a problem with that, talk to her. She's the reason for my mysogyny.

Wow. Wow! Where do I even begin with refuting such a skewed and hateful post? I truly pity you, as your post makes it clear you've never come across any brilliant women in your time. You've let one bad experience with a woman totally bias you as to the intellectual capacity of over half of humanity. The three smartest people I know are women, and just try telling my demi-genius law school sister she lacks the capacity to write creatively. She can write better than you can in two different languages. As for the ratio of women to men on this forum, it used to be a lot closer. I think it was the way guys would just hit on any woman who posted here that drove them away, initially. And jackasses like yourself posting sexist bullcrap with fear of repercussions is what keeps them away. Congrats, you needn't fear the hated influence of the feminine anymore, as your blantant hostility towards it keeps it from finding cause to express itself to you, and, sadly, to the rest of us on this forum as well.
"I know that your pro animal an all, I like animals too, I don't know you seem to think I'm some animal hater, but if you think that animals are going to evolve into something close to human intelligence, there is going to be tigra, liono, chitera, wily kid and wily cat and some teenage mutant ninja turtles coming ahead, I just don't see it, animals are meant to be animals, they'll evolve to a certain degree but will always remain animals" --Capliberty
I don't think you're an animal-hater, man. I just think you don't give life as a whole nearly enough credit by assuming that humankind is somehow unique and our degree of intelligence is irreplicable. To assume that evolution has a limit when it comes to animals is to say that evolution only applies to people. And if you buy into evolution at all, you know that isn't true. Plus you totally ignored my examples. What about the chimps that craft little termite-catchers and other crude tools? That's allowing them to get a more protein-rich diet, which will in turn allow for a more expansive brain, which will in turn allow for more spohisticated tools which will allow for greater diversity of proteins and so on.
And what's that tigra, liono stuff? I have no clue what you're talking about, there.

so basically, you are saying that women don't post here because they are scared of the opinions of people like me.
Even if that were true (which it isn't), who's fault is it that they are scared of opinions they don't agree with?
People call me all kinds of things on this board. I don't care. Women could learn a lesson from my attitude. but instead, they run away! They run away from anything they find unpleasant. worthless bitches.
The real reason women don't post here is because the vast majority of them are too busy getting their nails painted and watching 'Sex in the City' to care about the meaning of life, the universe, and everything.
Are there brilliant women? Yes, and I have met quite a few of them. I believe I am with one right now. But the vast majority are animals. Fucking ho-ass cheerleaders. My new GF hates them just as much as I do.

"who's fault is it that they are scared of opinions they don't agree with?"
I don't think it has anything to do with fear, I think it's about disgust. If someone were posting all sorts of racial slurs and demeaning my intelligence due to my race, I'd leave because when it comes down to it, if I'm on a forum to discuss philosophy and spirituality, I'm disinclined to put up with bigotry. I'd go to another forum of the same type on a different site where hatefulness is frowned upon.
"But the vast majority are animals." Such broad, dehumanizing generalizations, it's repulsive! Such a willingness to judge others based on scanty evidence! Sure, there are lots of brainless ladies. There are lots of brainless men, too, though. Gender just plain shouldn't be the key criteria by which someone's intelligence is judged.

ok, if its disgust and not fear, then your phantom ladies suffer from a lack of compassion rather than a lack of courage.
can you not accept the fact that almost every woman I've known has unjustly put me through a lot of fucked up shit? Are you too afraid to admit that my mysogyny does have some basis in fact?
And yes, the vast majority of humans (males included) are animals.
but I have found that men are more receptive to salvation than women.

to an extent, you are right, silversoul. I am wrong to apply my specific experiences in a general way.
but hey, that's the data I have.
thank God I found some 'new evidence', and you can bet I will 'examine' her thouroughly
she really is a sweetheart. She's slowly but surely restoring my faith in women.
Still though, I will never forget the fucked up things that women (teachers, mothers, sisters, girlfriends, etc) have done to me. A lot of women have fucked me over big time, and that has effected my opinion of women as a whole, for in operating a human mind, I am subject to human ways of thiunking (schemas, predjudice, etc)
You're really cool, dude, but you seem sheltered and naive. I only hope that you don't have to go through what I have. I could write a whole book about how women have royally screwed me over. Anyway, the moral of the story is: watch your back when it comes to women! I'd really hate to see a nice guy like you get fucked the way I have been.

"almost every woman I've known has unjustly put me through a lot of fucked up shit?"
Every consider that maybe they aren't the only ones to blame, that maybe your behavior influences how you get treated? Or do you just find it easier to find fault with everyone else?
"And yes, the vast majority of humans (males included) are animals."
Nevermind that last question, looks like you've already answered it...At least you've started saying saying 'almost every', rather than 'all' like you were earlier in the thread.

oh yes, by being a nice sensitive boyfriend who gives them everything they ask for (including the freedom to make choices for themselves), I have earned their punishment.
now who's making assumptions? You don't know what kind of lover I am!
look dude, I'm a nice guy in relationships. Thats why I frequently finish last. I turn the other cheek and women keep slapping. Thats how its been most of my life. Why can't you accept that?
Did I ever tell you the story of the girl who scammed my family out of $50k by claiming she was pregnant with my child? It wasn't even mine, it was a friend of mine's who'd slept with her behind my back. She conned my old man out of 50 g's, then threw a big party with the money and didn't invite me.
thats just one story, bro. I got a hundred more if you care to listen.

Some say: "It was men who wrote the bible, and they gave a biased account."
To them I say:
That's women's fault for not inventing writing first. They were probably too busy admiring shiny things.
A woman has the same faults as a man, it's just that women often make themselfs appear more fair, more sensitive etc. because they are cunning. Sometimes they even convince themselfs that they are more noble in their ways. This goes specially for sex. A woman will blaim a man for looking at her as a sex object and not being sensitive enough, until she finds a man that SHE is crazy about, then she enjoys all kinds of things that she looked down on before.
The golder rule of sexes: A woman will always make it look as if it was the mans fault
Also, I think men are more noble, while women are more sensitive. A woman feels compassion from emotions, while a man feels a duty for compassion instead. emotions vs. morals

You're right, Doctor J, I don't know everything about your life experiences and what kind of lover you are. I just know you sound like a bitter, bitter individual in a lot of regards. It's nice to know that your current girlfriend is restoring your faith in the female half of humanity, though. Keep your head up, eh?
As for your assumption that women don't possess the capacity for certain types of intellectual discovery, though, I still find it to be terribly flawed. Why exactly is it so unlikely a woman invented the written language?

it just seems unlikely to me that females invented writing because it would be more like female to invent singing, dancing, painting, or something like that.
men tend to think in a different direction than women. Both directions are obviously important, but we must have BALANCE between the two.
balance is my heart and soul. when I see imbalance, I long to correct it. Thats why I've always fought for the equality of the sexes. Right now, I exist in an environment where the majority of females believe themselves superior. I must correct this imbalance. That is my war. one of them, anyways.
As for the bitterness, I'm workin on it. After hearing my life story, most psychologists would be amazed that I haven't climbed to the top of a water tower with a sniper rifle. So it pisses me off a little when people accuse me of being bitter, or mishandling my hardships.
Its a lot easier not to be bitter when you aren't drinking the lemonade you made with the lemons life handed you.
Every now and then, someone hands me a coke and a smile and I shut the fuck up

You simply misinterpret how women view themselves. They don't think of themselves as superior to men, they think of themselves as equal. For whatever reasons, a woman who asserts herself to be equal to men is somehow threatening to your ideology.

hey, I've been cashin in on good karma from other people's fuckups against me for several years now.
but it still hurts because I love my enemies, and I know they are hurting themselves more than me.
If nobody had screwed me in the first place, things would be a lot better for everyone, myself included.
but people have screwed me time and time again. So I get a little richer karmicly and a little more pissed off. Its stupid. but its people who choose to initiate the cycle. I always try things the easy, nice way first. Rarely do I get the response that I hope for. So then I have to bust out the hard, ugly, painful way. It sucks. But thats what people choose with their actions.
I have been trying to teach people the way to successful anarchy for millenia now. once people start making the right choices, it'll get a lot easier and cooler.

"most psychologists would be amazed that I haven't climbed to the top of a water tower with a sniper rifle. So it pisses me off a little when people accuse me of being bitter, or mishandling my hardships."
Most psycologists think everyone should be up on water towers with sniper rifles. Part of what makes them a psycologist, y'see. You might not be bitter, but you sure as hell sound bitter, man. But as you pointed out, who am I to judge your views? You may be the super-reasonable guy to portray yourself to be. In fact, you probably are.
"...because it would be more like female to invent singing, dancing, painting, or something like that...men tend to think in a different direction than women."
That's why I maintain that you are indeed sexist. People think in whatever direction they're inclined to, and gender has nothing to do with it, really, aside from influencing how they're brought up.

fighting is fine, as long as its for a good cause.
of course, if there were no enemies of Light, there would be no fighting. But people choose to make themselves enemies of the Light. They are decieved into thinking they can beat the Light, or that beating the Light will yield a positive result.

well, people CAN think in whatever direction they want. But they TEND to follow the path of least resistance and follow their influences. Women have a greater drive to be intuitive and right-brained than men. Men have a greater drive to be logical and left-brained than women.
Of course, I know emotionally sensitive, artistic, intuitive males (I happen to be one, to a certain extent), and I know logical, scientific women. But these people aren't in the meat of the curve, if you catch my drift. They are exceptions to the rules of the average.
dude, you have no idea how turned on I get by really intelligent chicks. Once I was in this nueroscience class, and this one chick knew everything, had all the lessons down pat. She knew about 1000x more about the brain than me. I was like, whao! Seriously impressed. Not intimidated, but genuinely impressed and attracted to her. Listening to this girl talk about axons and dendrites was like dirty talk to me. rowr.

If you are interested in examining some actual research into the myth of gendered intelligence, you might want to check out this article:
http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m2294/is_n1-2_v29/ai_14526339
There are statistically insignificant differences in a few, specific academic skills. Though females have outscored males on SAT Verbal ability tests, (yes, completely contrary to your assertions), even this difference was shown to have been exaggerated by the self-selected sampling method. Heh heh, I know the feeling. Alright, I'll drop the charge of 'sexist' and just consider you ill-informed. You should read that link that Veritas posted, it's quite informative.

I'd really hate to see a nice guy like you get fucked the way I have been.
You think that just because I have faith in women that I haven't been fucked over by any of them? I once had an ex-girlfriend send me to the psych ward at a hospital, then refuse to talk to me for 5 years. I know as much as any other guy what it's like to have my heart stomped on. But you know what? I've met plenty of girls who have worse horror stories than me, yet they don't lose their faith in guys because of it. The bottom line is that a certain percentage of people are mean, manipulative, and/or shallow, and occasionally, you'll get fucked over by them, especially if you open up to them(as people generally do with those they're closest to).

I used to fall for that male oriented superior/smarter point of view, but time has shown me that this is just bullshit. It is an easy way to justify condescension and abuse towards a fellow human.

Now there's an excellent point! When the shoe's on the other foot, women seem less inclined to get all bitter and let their TRULY horrific experiences (that totally trump anything you've mentioned, sorry Doc J) ruin their view of men as an entire gender. Mind you, there are exceptions to every rule, I'm not saying there aren't any jaded and bitter women out there.

yeah, I'm a lot nicer when people don't deliberately fuck with me...
Icelander and his ilk are pretty much the reason I've been so inflamatory lately.
He obviously has some personal vendetta with me. So he likes to draw me into these childish battles, then he goes around telling everyone what an asshole I am, using my defenses as his evidence.
chickenshit goes behind my back and tries to turn my allies against me. I've dealt with your kind before, Icey. you ain't nothin but a ho-ass mark.
and I might be a cry-baby, but at least I ain't no TATTLETALE!
how old are you, anyway, Icey?

DoctorJ, you're considering a rather one-sided POV. Sure Icelander is behaving in a way that you don't like, but the way YOU'RE behaving seems to be the motivation for his behavior. You see the log in his eye but not in your own. Take a closer look man.

Sorry for asking you to do your job, and enforce the BB rule regarding hate speech. Why include an agreement not to post hateful comments as part of the registration process if it is "trivial"?
Oh, well, the ignore feature is far more effective than the "report post" button, anyway. At least the former doesn't decide for itself whom it applies to.

Icelander, you're a beautiful person, why are bending down like this? It seems almost like you're letting your pride get in your way. Self-importance will sneak up on you when you least expect it and are least prepared. I may be off-base here, but I have a feeling I'm not that far off.

I guess that hate speech directed towards women is invisible to you, then. I have no problem with most of the mods on this site, especially because the mods in other forums actually check the boards more than once a month & respond quickly (and without being notified) to rule violations.
As to misogynistic "opinions" being stated as facts, they belong in OTD.

Hate speech? You must not visit OTD..
What I saw here was nothing short of personal opinion, and while it may contain overtones of bitterness, there were no blatant rule violations, and as we know from past history.. strong opinions are what make this forum what it is, and I have seen much worse here that is considered acceptable behaviour. You may not agree with it, but that doesn't mean it's a rule violation. If you don't agree with it you are free to argue.
As far as checking the boards once a month. I don't know about you.. but I'm on the shroomery on average 3-5 times a day, moderating 4 forums, for the past 6 years. Please don't pretend like you know how often I am on, or how often we remedy posts without being notified of them.

So if someone expresses a personal opinion which is in violation of the rules of the board, it is OK because it is their opinion? That's not the way it is played on the other forums.
I deduced that you were MIA because of the last incident involving flaming and hate speech. Guess you were just disinterested.
As I said, it is clear where things stand in this forum, and I will handle it myself. Recent support by mods and admins for equal rule application must have been a fluke.

Well that's certainly an option. I've never used it.. but it's there.
As far as equal rule application, I do my best. In a forum like this where different values and moralities come into play, as well as the extreme opinions of some people, there are a lot of grey areas. I am also a human.
