ok people... just got back from my first hunt. i went to a forest near my house and some fields not really expecting to find anything at all. to my surprise 20mins into it i find a mushroom just laying down there n the middle of the pathway. i guess a horse trampled on it or(even better) someone who was looking for mushrooms dropped it. if it was actually growing there it was growing on some dead pine needles. i took some pics but it was with my phone so it won't be too helpful i think. i'll try to upload them as soon as possible. i also found another type of mushroom that was also growing on those pine needled but these ones were a little more hidden. i also took pics and brought home two large specimens and a small one that i believe is of the same species. i also found some white mushrooms (that look really cool) that were growing underground and were apparently just popping out of it. i think these might be poisonous becouse they really stood out and that usually means poison in the natural world. i live in honduras and it has been raining almost everyday for the past week or two. don't just star telling to give the right descriptions i will as soon as i can upload the pics, please keep chekin out this thread cuz i have no idea what i'm doing.

without proper info no one can help you, even a basic description would help.

the trampled one: -habitat: on the ground, a lot of dead pine needles, obviously a lot of pine trees around and some "roble" i think is the spanish name for the other trees. -gills: i don't really know cuz the cap was separated from the stalk when i found it. ill put some pics of what i found. i they the gills are pretty close to each other. they look white to me. -stem:i think itwas centered, 9cm long, about 1.5-2 cm thick. its shape is equal mostly. it is smooth and feels moist. its color is like whiteish yellowish but i think it was white when i first saw it, its getting darker. it's solid. -cap: diameter 8or9cm, about 1 cm thick, convex but not too much. its a little incurved and feels moist and is pretty smooth. its brown at the center and as yellowish at the edges. the flesh is about 1 or 2mm thick maybe 3 don't really know. and it has no particular odor. -as for the veil there is a yellow tissue at the top of the stem and i think that would be the veil. ill see if i ccan get a spore print. i'll be describing the other specimens and uploading pics soon.

the white mushrooms: -habitat: it was peeking undergorund on some rocky dirt, it was in with another one just like it. and found another one close by. pines and robles all around. -gills: extremely close together, i think i can't even distinguish on from another. white color, just like the whole mushroom. -stem: centered, 10 cm long, 1.2 cm thick at top and a bit over 2cm at bottom. -cap: 4.5cm in diameter, less than 1cm thick, about 3.5cm tall coneshaped. all white no odor other than dirt.

third specimen: -habitat same as the first. -gills: they are close but not as close as those of the first msuhroom. its kind of like skin color. the edges are rough. -stem: hollor and has a brownish color, about 7 cm long and maybe 1-1.5 wide. it looks like it has roots at the bottom. -cap: rugged with a light brown color the becomes even lighter closer to the edges. the edges seem a bit uplifted, feels moist abd smooth excepet for the irregular surface.
i think i found a lot of these mushrooms but another spceimen which i believe is just like this has a round and smooth cap, but maybe that's cause its young. i also found others that are like this(a group of three) but they look purplish or violet so i guess they rotting or something but i picked them up anyway. ill try to post the picks soon as well as getting some spore prints. i'll dry them out just in case some of them are active.

Where are the pictures you keep talking about? If you have no idea what you're doing, try reading some FAQ's and checking google for a few days. Buy a guide. Go on a hunt?
It is exciting to find a mushroom though, eh?

Sounds like you have a bunch of different types, one of whch could be a deadly amanita. None of them are likely active, though I have no idea what kinds of mushrooms grow in honduras. Don't bother drying them. Take spore prints though if you want an idea, and try to condense things in a single post. Also, even though you've done it - read the FAQ. All sorts of stuff about drying in there.
