What the heck am I doing wrong????? PICTURES ARE UP NOW

OK, this is my first post here and am hoping you guys can help me figure out what it is that I am missing here.
I have read the hunter’s FAQ and have been lurking on the board for a while, I was hoping my first post would be an ID request, but alas, it is not to be!
Here is my dilemma, I am in middle Tennessee and live right next to a cow pasture of about 85 acres. It borders my property, basically with my back yard bordering with the back “yard” of the pasture. I have never been into mushroom hunting in the past but decided, since I have a cow field behind my house, to give it a shot.
I have been hunting for about three weeks now with VERY LITTLE success. I notice during my hunting sessions that there will be very tiny mushrooms sprouting up out of the dung patties, but so small that they certainly are not ready for picking. I will make a mental note of where that particular patty is.
When I return the next morning, the tiny mushrooms will either be wilted away dead, or just completely gone.
I am reasonably certain that there is no one else hunting this field, I believe the cows are stepping on some of them, perhaps. But they can’t be killing all of them.
Here is what I have been going by, basically waiting until it rains, then, after a good day or two of rain, I will go out the next morning around 6 AM and each subsequent morning for 3 or 4 mornings in a row. I have been completely luck-less!
The pasture is completely covered in cow dung ranging from dried up brittle, petrified dung, to the fresh steaming liquefied piles of green dung.
It does seem to be that the little babies tend to sprout in the older more dried out dung, is that normal?
Help me guys, tell me what I need to change about this hit and miss (more miss than hit) strategy I have been employing.
Thanks in advance!!!!!

patience is a virtue, I do however recommend taking a closer look at those immature ones, they may be active and if so is a sure indicator that you will have plenty of luck in that field. try looking in small blocks (say 30 minutes or so) I think this helps me concentrate, may work for you?

Hey thanks for the reply!! Should I be looking for them coming right out of the dung, or around it or how????
Should I get down on my knees and move the grass around? (Should I also pray while I'm down there? :-) )
What is the deal with them looking like they are coming up, but then the next morning they look dead, or are completly gone?
I read in the FAQ's that if they are not mature, keep going back day after day until they do.
thnaks gain!!!!

its hard to say where to look, I have seen pictures of dung loving fungi on, in and around dung. When I look i try to check any clumps of grass in the area, there is no point in fanning the grass with your hands, just check any spots that are out of your view. As for the dying dillema im not 100% sure why they are dying, however if you could determine what species they are it may give you some more enthusiasm in your searching
peace, wazz

I will try to get some pictures and samples for a proper ID request next time I go out, even if they are really tiny.

Id recommend looking in older dung, and areas that are more shaded or protected from the sun.

Hey thanks for that tip, I have been doing the EXACT opposite of that, looking in fresh dung, in sparsly shaded areas or areas with no shade at all. For some reason, I was under the impression that fresh dung and blazing sun (after a rain) were the ideal growing conditions.
Thanks again, hopefully I will have some photos for an ID request tommorow!

OK Here are a couple of crappy photos, near a cig for perspective. These mushrooms are really small and I am hoping you guys can help.
I will post the correct info in a minute:
Ok here is the ID request info:
Habitat: Cow pasture in middle tennessee, growing directly out of cow dung
Gills: Can't tell as I did not open the cap of disturb the shroom
Stem: White, very thin and fragile, perhaps because it is so young????
Cap: White near bottom gradually turing white as it gets to the top, MAYBE 1/4 inch in diameter and smooth
Spore Print: Later tonight
Bruising: not detected
Location: Middle Tennessee
Caps are white progressing to brown as you get closer to the top, the stem is white, no bruising that I can tell and again, they are REAL small.
These were growing in clusters right up out of the cow dung
