How to transplant San Pedro Pups????
    #5793911 - 06/26/06 08:59 PM (17 years, 7 months ago)

I have pups that have formed on my san pedro. My Question is how do I transplant them. Do I simply cut the pup off and then let it dry. After a few days then do I proceed to plant it and then it will root. I was just wondering the exact method and if anyone has any tips for being successful with transplants and making them grow faster once they have been transplanted.

dont bury the base, just let them sit on the sandy soil, with a slight depression.
use a couple sticks for support if it needs it.

Once the base has scabbed over put them in or on cactus mix soil (quick draining, with small pebbles, some sand & perlite mixed in if possible). I would put them in the mix, though not too deep. Don't water them until roots have emerged (if you're careful you can lift them up every month or so to check if roots have formed. Once roots have started you can water, and you may want to add a root promoting fertiliser such as Hesi Roots Complex.
