Best Way to Utilize Spawn Bags

Now that they make the pre-seal kind, i decided to give these bags a shot. Now that i got them, they seem like more of a hassle then they are worth. Yeah, i can fit more in a bag than in a jar, but I can stuff my pc with jars, whereas i can only use one bag at a time.
I have to put a bowl down, so the bag doesnt touch any metal, and I can only fit one large in at a time (2 medium) because im afraid of the sides melting the bag as well.
So, with that said...
What's the best way to use spawn bags?
I know they wouldnt be so popular if there isnt an easier way to process them, so I must just be grossly overlooking something obvious.

I am liking that method right there. I'll probably use it for my first grow. If you can muster throwing it in a secluded corner of your closet I think it would be fine.

I have pressure cooked multiple bags at once with no problems. They don't melt very much by touching the sides of the pc, just don't let them touch on the bottom as you would with pc'ing anything. The only thing I worry about is one of the bags blocking any of the orifices on the lid from the inside.

if you get the seal after bags and have an electric range to PC on it's not a problem, I can put about 15lbs of corn or WBS in bags and PC them all, I usualy tuck a towel over them and down the side for extra security, the sealed bags expand in the PC and can block the vent pipe

I have a big PC and can load it up,
The two things I do is wrap them with tinfoil, have not had any problems with them melting, or compromising the bag,
And since the bags are touching each other, I place the metal ring, from jars in between the bags, giving the steam a place to go.
Then if I was going to use more then two bags, I place the metal tray on top of the bags and do the same thing to the next level, four large bags are not a problem, though I have a AAPC 925.

How do you keep stuff from touching the bottom of a pressure cooker? Does this go for glass jars too?

Haha, badass smiley. Ok thanks a lot for the info. I have a quick PC question. We have an old one at my house, I have no clue how much PSI it puts out. It has no sensor on it and I don't know how strong the sping is on the wastegate for the PC. Any clues? Is there a general amount PC's cook at?
Sorry for jaking the thread. I'll stop.

Thanks everyone. I did a trial run with one bag to get a feel for it. It doesnt seem as hard as I thought, but Im still confused on a few things.
I was told that I cant put the bags on the metal rack which came with my pc, that I must suspend the bags above it with ceramic bowls. This cuts down on the actual space I have.
Someone above mentioned they put their bags right on the rack. Am I under the false impression that this would melt the bags?
Pris, you said "if you get the seal after bags and have an electric range to PC on it's not a problem,". What do you mean? I assume a gas range would make the bottom and sides too hot, melting the bags.
But what do you mean about the "seal after bags"? I highly prefer the pre-seal bags, to cut that vector of contamination when you take the bags out of the pc. What is it about them that is inferior?

Also, I forgot to mention, I use a foodsaver to seal my bags. As I mentioned, I use the pre-sealable bags. Should I vacuum the bags as well, or just seal them? I was thinking that the filter patch would make that a moot point, allowing in air after the vacuum seal.
What does everyone else think?

My buddy uses bags (just started) but with his first batch he placed them directly on the bottom rack and didn't have any problems. He did drape a few rags around the outside so that they didn't contact the outside edge of the PC. Although I'm pretty sure that this is only necessary if you use a gas stove (the flames can reach up around the sides if its turned up too high) Remember, these bags are designed to withstand these temps!
