I don't know if many of you listen to Public Radio, but if you are a fan of the Prarie Home Companion show, you have to go see the movie they came out with. I saw it yesterday while coming down from a mellow mushroom trip and found it hilarious. The movie has a pretty big name cast, which surprised me.
but be warned, it is definitely one of those movies that you either hate to the core, or make it your top 5 favorites.

Garrison Keillor is lame. He was born in the Twin Cities area, went to the U of MN, and people all over the state make jokes about him.

really? I think he is witty, or atleast his writers are, but it seems most of the stuff is from the hip.
The movie really gave me a lot of expression and visual to what I hear now, which makes the show even better for me. In the movie, he was portrayed as a very emotionally cold person, but his great story telling talent shown through.
Maybe IRl he is an asswipe, but I really dig his show.

the current is good, I can't remember when I had a radio tuned to something else. I curse and swear at it sometimes though.

living in Nashville has given me a deeper respect for folk, country and that type of old time stuff, also, they play stuff I have never heard, which is rare for me.
we have a college radio station here, which sometimes plays good stuff, but it is a crap shoot, sometimes they play just flat out poo.

I've been a fan of "A Prarie Home Companion" for years. Spent many nights camped out in the middle of the desert sitting under a starry sky and listening to it. I'll definately go see the movie.
And I could really go for some bee-bop-a-re-bop-a-rhubarb pie right now.

psilocyberin...you talking about 90.3? What time does Prarie Home Companion come on? I listen to it all day throughout the morning/afternoon at work, but don't recognize the title.
Also, you talking about Vanerbilt's station...91.1...I think? If you're into jazz/blues at all, give 89.5 WMOT a listen. But I'm sure you already have

yeah, i like 89.5, and yes NPR is 90.3, but NPR has great news coverage, and this may sound pretentious, but it has a higher quality (charisma) of intellectually stimulating broadcast, even in their music.
I actually couldn't tell you when prarie comes on, because my schedule is so inconsistent, but I seem to catch it pretty often. I think it is some time around 6 pm.

I'll have to try to listen for it at home. I'm usually not at work that late. But I have heard them talk about it before, commericals and whatnot. Maybe they'll announce the time and I'll pay attention. Thanks man.

Go see the movie, it is playing at the Belcourt theatre right now. It actually had some great shots, good quality, just an all around well done movie.
Kevin Kline (sp?) plays Guy Noir, if you know who that is in the PHC.

Hmmm...I don't know anything about the program. I'll be in town this weekend though, so I might try to go see it if the times work out. I love the Belcourt, such a nice, homely little place.

I am a big fan of NPR. I even donated money in one of their fundraisers and I never do that. I will see the movie. Hopefully some of the money is getting funnled back to npr.
