Total footprint: 24
If everyone lived like me, we would need 5.4 planets.
Probably an understatement. They didn't have a question: "How big is your plasma TV?" or "do you constantly leave all the lights on because your landlord pays your electric?"

Yes, it is just a quick snapshot of your personal environmental impact. Interesting, nonetheless.

FOOD 2.5 MOBILITY 0 SHELTER 6.4 GOODS/SERVICES 4.4 TOTAL FOOTPRINT 13
i can't imagine that's very accurate. i buy very few consumer goods. i don't own a television, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, air conditioner, or full sized refrigerator. i own 3 pairs of shoes: sneakers, hiking boots, and work boots. i rarely buy clothing, but when i do, it is long-lasting or second hand. that survey doesn't account for anything like that. i think i live very simply and ecologically-friendly, but i can't be self-righteous about it because it's not like i completely choose to... i have pretty limited means right now. there is a category for goods/services but few questions about that.
it mentions only having 4.5 biologically productive acres per person when it tallies up how many earths would be needed to support a planet full of me's. i don't know see why my energy and mineral resource (and food - i eat a lot of fish) consumption is assumed to come from only "biologically productive" acres of land.

Your "goods" footprint is solely based upon how much waste you generate, compared to others in your area. Your shelter footprint is based upon the square footage of your home, divided by the number of residents. As these two scores make up most of your "acreage," I would guess that you answered "more waste than others" and that you live in a large place with few others, or a medium sized place by yourself.
Your footprint is still only a little more than 1/2 of the average score for people in your geographic area.

I'm better than most, I suppose... but obviously I'm not a green-friendly person.

Food - 1.6 hectares (4.0 acres) Mobility - 0 Shelter - 0.4 hectares (1.0 acres) Goods - 0.3 hectares (0.75 acres)
Total footprint 2.3 hectares (5.75 acres), if everyone lived like me we'd need 1.3 planets.
Not too shabby, I'd say. Sure, it's not great, but it costs extra to really cut down on the food catagory footprint, I find. Unless you've got your own garden (it'll happen for me someday).
But why does my quiz say that worldwide there exist only 1.8 hectares per person? It's seems that figure should stay consistant from test to test...

That must change based upon the country you select when you start the quiz.

Difference in units: Hectare vs Acre. I touched up your post a bit.

Well looks like we need more planets to accomodate people like me, time to stop fighting wars and start moving off this rock
