Hi everyone-this is Jessica, llama_box's girlfriend. I met some of you at the gathering this weekend. I'm in need of a favor llamabox was arrested on the way home from the gathering.He was busted for having shrooms and other stuff. We got pulled over for following a motorcycle too close and then they searched the car.He has 6 to 18 months he's looking at, unless he can come up with an Ohio address for proof of residency, then he might get off with probation because he has no priors. We have kids and I'm trying to get him home. Can someone please help?

I'm really sorry this happened, heard about it earlier... hope we can do something to help you guys out. As far as proving residency.. that's about as simple as getting some 'official' mail sent to an address in that state, I think. Like a phone bill, insurance, anything... any Ohioans wiling to help out?

Why would it be a lie? Someone in Ohio could even offer to put him up for a couple days until he gets his own Ohio address if that's what he needs. I would if I were in Ohio.

sucks that he got arrested. but he did fuck up by driving with illegal contraband and consenting to a search. you never allow a search!

i guess lie is a pretty harsh and judgemental word so i changed it. However someone would need to speak up for them who lives in OH to get some proof.

In most states that is all that is needed. But for this circumstance, they may want an I.D. with an address on it and/or some kind or utility bill.
I have had to come up with this proof in the past, and they were satisfied with a notarized letter from the person I was living with. It all depends on the county, state, judge, etc.

I would never say that even if the courts decided that it was not consent. The reason why the courts were even considering it is because it was a very ambiguous sounding statement to begin with. It's certainly not "magic words", why do I want a cop possibly misunderstanding me telling him "no"?

Hi Jessica,
You and Jason are like family to me. I would be happy to let him stay with me while he is on probation. There is work (not great pay) to be had here, and I can get him connected with the AA/NA folks that are always so helpful when it comes to these kinds of things. Hell, I need to stop drinking anyway. 
I have a really small apartment (a bedroom, a kitchen, and a bathroom), but I can make room on the couch. Hmmm... I'm looking at my bedroom now, and it seems I could easily put a divider in and have about ten times more space on one side than I had in the navy.

dude that totally blows on what happened. his girl didnt mentioned it but when camp staff came and said someone had been arrested they said he was driving on a suspended licence which gives them automatic consent

Not to be negative but I don't think this will be as easy as it sounds.
IRS has everyone's address (except illegal`s and some minors), so your adress as of Decemeber 2005 is where u are living now. And if he is currently working a litegitmate job the IRS knows where he is working. So therefor if you plan on going to court of this, lying under oath and fraud are finable offences

Ive said it a million times before. Look in the yellowpages for a big city near you. In your case, look in one for Ohio.
Call all the attorneys that list "free consultation". Generally they will give you a few minutes of their time and let you ask a few questions. They will give you sound legal defence advice.
Youll find sooo many lawyers offering free consultations that you can spend hours on the phone getting quality advice.
Just get a notebook and write out 30 questions you want answered. Make sure you ask each one this. "in your opinion what do you think I should do"?
Write out all the answers and before you know it youll be informed and prepared.

I'm in Ravenna right now, the trafficking charges have just been dropped. He will be released from jail around 5:00 PM, and I will drive him home to Indiana this evening.

The mushrooms were never tested, so the judge was only seeing the pot. He didn't even know what mushrooms were, and neither the cop nor the prosecute could say psilocybin.
It was rather amusing actually.

I think the only one left is driving without a license. They may try to prosecute on a possession charge at some future point, but the trafficking is gone.

how did the trafficking charge get dropped within only a couple days... strange if you ask me because it takes about 30 days to dispute your arguement... within 1-3 days they just tell you your charges and your bail nothing you can do but sit and wait... did someone bail him out?

no the judge threw it out because they didn't even know if the mushrooms were anything that was illegal or not. the prosecuter couldn't even pronounce phcilocybe.(i gan even spell)lol

right. an after the fact evidence of residency is likely to be scrutinized or rejected. I dont understand what difference it makes where he lives. he gets sentenced, then transfers his probation to his home county and state. never heard of leniancy towards locals. thats unlawful prejudice/bias. sounds like small town shit, just do what they say and smile.
charges dropped? happens all the time. mystic justice. sometimes they throw away the key, other times its the evidence. maybe its Karma, maybe its chance... when good things happen be thankful, and pay it forward!
