Interesting, the spore print will be critical here. Print them all, it will be painstaking, but very important.

Panaeolus subbalteatus. Though, as advised above, print them all. If there are any mushrooms in that bunch that are obviously not the same type of mushroom as the rest, than seperate them, because once they begin to dry, it will be difficult to distinguish them from one another. Any that look like the ones in the pics above should be printed- leave them on the paper over night if possible, the longer you leave them alone, the darker the print will be and that will make them more easy to identify. Make sure to keep each stem with each cap it came from. The mushrooms with jet black spores will be Panaeolus subbalteatus(subbs.)- (although you might have some other Pan. species mixed in- so be discerning), a brown spore print indicates Panaeolus foenisecii(foes.).
subbs are mildly hallucinogenic. foes are not.

I believe we have a winner! Every single spore print was a black.

I don't like hearing the mildly hallucinogenic as it's hard to use that specifically. As I see LSD as a strong psychedelic, but you don't need to take as much psilocybin(in terms of weight) to be under just as great effects, but I find mush to be a lot easier on my body in terms of fatigue and nervousness regardless of dosages. Plus you can eat more subbs to achieve the same amount of psilocybin that a certian amount of liberty caps has, but it's not going to be any less hallucionogenic, they contain less psilocybin is all, not milder....In my uneducated head anyways...anyone care to share thier thoughts?
I disagree, "mildly hallucinogenic" means simply, less active chemicals by weight. A mild or moderate amount of psilocybin. I think "mild" is an effective description in getting the point across to people, that more of these mushrooms by weight will need to be consumed to achieve the same effects as say, a much smaller amount of Copes. Ounce per ounce, there is less psilocybin and/or psilocin in Panaeolus subbalteatus than many other active species, which I believe can be described as a mild amount of psilocybin/psilocin, or, a mild hallucinogen.

Hi Chad and welcome. Post an ID request thread with photos of the cap, whole stem and gills, and give as much of the required info as possible (when you select subcategory ID request a checklist will appear for you to fill out).
