Morchella conica.

Found these a few months ago and was wondering if they were worth a cultivation attempt, I have a clean spore print or should I go back to where I found them and try to find sclerotia for a clone attempt?

I'd try the spores. Its unlikely you will be able to find the sclerotia.

Thanks Workman, I'll start some soon!
I read a document on Morchella cultivation and it went into detail about how Morel mycelium is one of the fungi that forms a symbiotic relationship with the roots of certain orchid species, without these fungi the orchid seeds can't germinate!
It also said something about the Morels only fruiting when the host tree starts to die, very interesting, do you know anything about these subjects?

Yes, but apparently not all strains form or require a host seed plant to fruit. I suggest trying as many strains as possible and hoping for the best. Wild morels fruiting in landscaped areas and away from other plants are a good start for finding a non-mycorrhizal strain/species.

I am working with a couple of non-mycorrhizal strains but am having only limited success so far.
