air pump running 24/7?
    #578813 - 03/14/02 01:29 PM (22 years, 10 months ago)

my friend is trying to improve her terrarium set up. should she have the air pump run 24/7 with a bubbler stone in water, or just run it off a timer?

any suggestions appreciated,

di11rod

that would all depend on how much air thje bubbler moves, how big the terrarium its pumping in/out of.. etc, and how the setup is humidified, and if it drops humidity..

As long as you can keep the humidity at its optimal capacity. If you can keep it on all the time, as well as keeping your humidity high, then your fine. If it screws with your humidity, put it on a timer.

The more air exchange during the fruiting phase is the best. During pinning, its not that big of a deal, keeping the humidity high is more important. Try putting it on a timer during the pinning phase, or maybe just fan. Once they have matured into 1/4" fruit bodies, then up the air exchange and lower your humidity down to 85%. This is of course if your doing casings. If your doing cakes, just keep the humidity @ 95%.
