Drugs net busted June 23, 2006 - dailytelegraph.com.au
A QUARTER of a million ecstasy tablets destined for Sydney's streets have been siezed after a three-month investigation.

Police expect the availability of ecstasy in pubs and clubs will be significantly affected by the 55kg haul of tablets, which have an estimated street value of $12.5 million.
During the raids at the weekend on properties in South Coogee, Bondi Junction and Zetland, police also seized two pill presses used to manufacture the tablets.
The tablets were stamped with logos including Maserati, Mercedes and Volkswagen.
Also seized was 18kg of MDMA, the powder used to make ecstasy tablets, as well as more than $100,000 in cash.
A 32-year-old Coogee man and a 42-year-old Bondi Junction man were arrested during the raids. Police allege the organised crime syndicate manufactured the drug in a residential property at South Coogee.
Superintendent Ian Foscholo, of the Special Crime Unit, said he expected the raids to have an impact on the Sydney drug market.
He said police had prevented a "large-scale distribution" of the drug. The investigation into the drug ring is continuing to identify others involved.
Police Commissioner Ken Moroney said ecstasy was euphemistically referred to as "a recreational drug" but it could be deadly.
"There is nothing recreational about being dead," he said.
"There is nothing recreational about being injured by way of mental health problems or other associated health problems."
Nicholas Jake Barton, 33, of Coogee, and Rees Gerard Woodgate, 42, of Bondi Junction, faced Parramatta Bail Court at the weekend accused of supplying the illegal drug.
They did not apply for bail and will reappear in Central Local Court on July 17. Both are charged with supplying a commercial quantity of a prohibited drug.
Police Minister Carl Scully said the arrests sent a strong message to those involved in illicit drug manufacture that it would not be tolerated.

"There is nothing recreational about being dead." HA! That is too funny, funny cuz it's true!
But man, that is a lot of drugz, mang. What are they gonna do with all that MDMA? They should give it to all the psycotherapists...
