rye flour storage

When using a bag of rye flour (not berries) my cat has been folding the top edges down, so the flour isn't sealed. Over time, will it go bad or lose it's nutrional values or anything?? Thanks!!!

i have been keeping mine at room temp since i started-it hasnt gone bad
flax seed meal does need to be refridgerated to keep it fresh-(or thats where my organic grocer keeps it and thats what it says on the bag)

Donno about rye flour, but I know for fact that organic brown rice flour can go bad. I seal my flour up in an air tight tupperware container and keep it in the fridge. Take a pinch and taste it before you use it... the taste is pretty obvious when it has gone bad... almost like sour milk.
