someone should convince Iraqis to stop killing each other
the whole coalition deaths over 3+ years is about 5% of the deaths in the Battle of Normandy, about equal to the deaths in the Battle of Dien Bien Phu.

I don't know if that response was towards me, and if it was, I have no idea what significance your comment has.
A lot of people have died in Iraq, I wonder if more Iraqis died before or after the USA invasion.
I dare someone to argue that conditions are worse there now than they were in 2002, or 1992, or 1982.
It's a shame that Islamic and Muslim people have had their heads up their asses for so long. One would think that thousands of years of civilization would have taught them to get along with each other. No dice...
It's no surprise that the level of education within the Islamic and Muslim communities is the lowest.

yes, long gone are the days when education and scientific advancement were seen as acts of glorification of Allah and his creation...

Ok, I'll bite. I'm not saying Saddam wasn't an insane mass murderer, but under his government at least most people had basic services and infrastructure. And even though it was a brutal regime, there was definitly security, and there were no insurgent groups blowing themselves up and killing dozens of random people daily.
On a side note, did you read about that doucebag republican senator who dug up a forgoten cache of mustard gas that pre-dated the gulf war, and then had the balls to say "See? We found the proof that Saddam had WMDs!" I'm glad someone remembers why we were told we had to go to war.

I would like to see the evidence of more than 40,000 killed. I would think the total to be way higher than that. That number is about 25 killed a day. If you read Juan Cole's site at all, you'll know that's on the low side of the average per day.

actually, I just looked at the link that those statistics were gathered from; http://www.iraqbodycount.org , and they are only civilian deaths that have been reported by the media. No doubt it's much higher...
